well here she is...i decided to go with walnut, because from what ive heard its really strong and the lightest of the hard woods...my shop teacher told me that if this breaks he will order me some hickory...so far i love it, its not too heavy and i love the way it feels when you shoot, thos of you that own or have shot with a woodie know what i mean :love: ...soooo tell me wutcha think

looks really nice, almost factory built. was this your first project? if so, mad props to you. im thinkin about gettin into the wood shaft making business. look out for a bunch of shafts coming from me in the not too distant future.

haha, yea it was my first project...its sooo smooth. you should deff. start making your own shafts, and plus it makes you feel good about your self lol

looks pretty nice
personally i have 2 woddies one oak and one hickory and the hickory is much heavier then the oak but ive aslo had alot more complaints from ppl who have been hit by the hickory
but if your going for great feel on a shot and light weight id rock the oak i love mine (if urs breaks)
so yeah theres my 2 cents
but good luck with the wood

yea i had some waterproof finish in my garage sitting around from when i had to paint the fence (yea, i had to paint the fence...what do I look like, Tom Sawyer? lol) it smells really bad tho...im hopeing that the smell will go away with time

i was considering oak but i was told that it splinters like crazy...is this true?
