I was about to say just that. This looks about the closest I have seen a homemade Rock-it Pocket come to the real deal. Great job JW. As st1acrosse99 mentioned, this does look better than the real thing which generally look like slighlty thrown together and uneven.

i guess going into this more deep...

i have seen and played with rock-it pockets that have been strung by the company. and as FLD just said, they are thrown together and pretty much look like C work. jaywap has pretty much surpassed the original pocket. the symmetry is amazing, i honestly can't grasp the concept on how well he keeps everything in balance. every knot was tied tight, every coil was done properly. most of all, it can actually throw. i specified, mid-high pocket with very little whip. i saw it and expected the ball to hit the ground on the first pass. to my amazement, it feels just like my game sticks and how i would string up my mesh pockets (for how the "feel is" when shooting/passing" for a george pocket...this is better then anything that RP can string.

if he wants to become a pro stringer, and have a business for it. he could easily do it.

I agree. JW correct me if I am wrong here- but as I see it, JW cares about the work he does as a stringer. Sure it could be argued it is all just a matter of presentation or aesthetics, but the cleaner pocket always wins in my book. The good people at Rock-it Pocket, as much as I respect and admire them, are making the pockets as a business. Care and consideration sadly take a back seat to production. I would love to go to Japan and teach them how to string, then leave, come back in a year and see what the people there can come up with with their amazing sense of dedication and professionalism.

Stringing is definitely my Zen meditation.

You got it FLD. I have been labeled as anal by more than a few people. Witch makes me a bit of a perfectionist. So when I string up a pocket weather it's a custom trad variant or mesh variant. Not only to I care how it looks. But I care how it preforms. Can you make a pretty pocket?... Sure. But it has to preform just as well if not better. You could also have a beat down ugly pocket. That preforms flawless. I care how my pockets preform and look. They are weapons of choice. They need to do what thier indented for. So each head I string (and I hate to say this) is treated better than my own. It is my name out there that goes along with that work. So the last thing I want is a unsatisfied coustomer or friend. I carry this mode of thinking with me everyday as I preform my normal job as well. People will notice quality over quantity.

JW is back with IMO his best pocket yet, speaking in terms of looks. i hate RPs but you my friend make them look so good. youve got some serious talent over there, good to see that you care more about other peoples sticks than your own. i dont care if a knots messed up on my own stick, but on someone elses stick i wont let it happen when i string it for them. like you said its your name out there along with the work.
