After school everyday or so I try to shoot with one of my team's best middie. The thing is that when we shoot it is really casual. We want to turn up the intensity but we don't know what drills we can do to help each other, other then just shooting. So I am basically asking what drills can two players, one that plays goalie the other that plays middie, do to help the other out?

P.s. We were shooting everyday but then had to take a week or two off because we couldnt find time. And I had to basically start all over (I wasnt stepping to the ball, my reaction time was off, and I just wasnt used to having balls thrown at me again) all after just two weeks without practice. What can I do so that I dont lose what I do during the offseason?

Thanks

other then shooting i have no idea what else to tell you maybe you could practice clearing with him like over the shoulder passes and such

but as for the shooting thing make sure you change it up between say outside shots and shots at point blank on the crease and maybe even try to get some of your other friends together so you can practice stopping the fast break

Have him work on the deception of his outside/close-range shot, and you work on reading it.

For close range I recommend not trying to save it at first and just guessing, until you are comfortable being hit with the ball (that is, if you're afraid of getting hit from close).

shoot, then when you catch, clear it so you get practice with that. really good drill for everyone.

id do a brief clearing drill like MACDADDY says take a half speed shot let him save it, and let him clear it, that doesnt just mean pass it means you run and he hits you on the run. And you just cranking them on him gets him experience to those shots that will make him a better goalie and you a better shooter because it'l help your shot placement and other things.

put an obstacle out in the field the middie would dodge then shoot around
