so i definatley think im the first person to bring lacrosse to afghanistan, correct me if im wrong??

well so far i think that everyone here thinks im crazy. i packed my stick to come on deployment and nobody knows what the hell it is so its a good place to spread the game. i guess

I dont know if you are, i read a story about a few marines getting some sticks sent out to them and that was about a yr ago. Thing is, it may have been Iraq so you might be the first in Afganistan.

How many of you out there have sticks with you. Sure would cut the tension around there.

that was to iraq, so far its just me and the wall but im trying to get some guys to get sticks

Thats cool, you should check with a few of the Canucks and see if any of those boys brought out sticks with them.

sorry man, but my old company commander has been over there awhile with his stick. we played a lot when we were in Iraq, but he went solo on this mission so i am sure he is rounding up anybody he can to play. keep your stick in your hand and your head down.

If anybody in Afghanistan wants to play Lax in Kabul they just need to get ahold of the Task Force Phoenix SPO. We had a butt load of gear sent over here this year and we were playing pick up games there twice a week

Yeah...prolly the first in Afghanistan...ik when my cousin was in Iraq 2 years ago my grams sent him his sticks and a bunch of balls. he was so glad to have that with him. he played thru college and still played once and a while when he left

There is an article about the Camp Phoenix soldiers playing lax in afghanistan on pgae 58 of May 2007 Inside lacrosse. I don't know if anyone saw that.
btw am I allowed to scan a page of the mag and post it here?

I'm guessing the equipment went to Kandahar or somewhere else in the south...the Canadians in Kabul just have hockey equipment.

Compared to Buzkashi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buzkashi), most Afghans might consider lacrosse pretty wimpy.
