I just got back from a lacrosse clinic and all of their balls were slippery and almost unusable, making it almost impossible to shoot accurately. Is there anything you can do to get around that? I'm considering just restringing one of my sticks with an extreme amount of whip and hold, becuase it will probably throw about the same as a normal stick using their balls.

I use slippery balls all of the time. It does not make a huge difference.

What would you do during a game? Adjust to the balls and focus more on accuracy then killing the ball.

Ah.. that's not as much fun. Would releasing later do it? Maybe I'm just spoiled with my several month old balls, but I can't shoot with them. It wouldn't be so bad if they were all equal in their crappiness.. but some aren't that bad and others are, so you can't really adjust to them.

There was a thread on it...some things you can do are leaving it in a pool cuz the chorline does sumthing to it...or sanding it. I always sand it and it works. Search it up, youll find results

how does a ball become crappy?
i know that if it's been like bounced a million times then they suck but what do you mean by slipery?

Like when you slide your thumb over it, your thumb doesn't stick to the ball. It doesn't grip the mesh (or leathers/x-lace) well, and therefore releases inconsistently.

Yeah.. But it's not like I can take the ball from the place that I go to and throw them in the pool.

are you goin back to the same clinic or was it just today? if your goin back your going to have to get used to them, or go talk to one of the head guys and tell him that they need new lacrosse balls.

u cant really do this to there balls but if u have any greasers at home, you can just sand them and they go back to normal.

Im not really sure if this is true but i heard the reason balls get like that is because when u play a lot dirt gets on the ball adn when the ball gets wet the dirt gets into the rubber and thats why it gets so slippery. So ur best bet is it just bring the balls in after ur done playing.
