Hey Cannon,

You seem to be pretty well informed and connected (funny about that!). Do you know if Footscray are getting promoted into S/L for 2007?

It would make sense to do so and yes I have heard that bandied about but nothing solid. Last time I checked there was significant hesitance from FLC and Altona about ever going up to State League. In hindsight this was a bad year for MCC to go up. So many guys going overseas and a few injuries. But lets be honest Caulfield and Malvern stink in State League at the moment. Both are candidates fro demotion.

Maybe shooter, our resident Bulldog knows the score on FLC.

I think Footscaray, Altona and Moreland should all be promoted to SL next season. I think all have the capeability to be competative with both Caufeild and Malvern and maybe even MCC(depending on who shows up to play for MCC on the day). And Moreland and Footscray both have good junior programs and good young players and have the potetntial to make good SL teams in the next few years so i think it's about time they were thrown in the deep end of vic lacrosse.

catch 22.........Quote: In hindsight this was a bad year for MCC to go up. So many guys going overseas and a few injuries.

Had MCC stayed in div 1...surely they would of never had the inclusion of 4 new faces that was making them look great during pre season???

Cmon other teams need to get up there and have a crack 7 finals in 9 years between willy and eltham is not good for the sport!

No word yet on whether we are going up, but obviously all the players want to.

Even with some key losses (Balfour, Tomasino, Miles for most of the season) we played well all throughout the year, which is probably proof that all those years of being in the top 2 or 3 clubs in juniors might finally be paying off in the ones.

Over the next few seasons we should be able to match it more in State League than during our last stint in the top level.

Altona shouldnt go up and either should moreland, Altona will get destroyed, they have no young blokes coming through either. moreland need to win a d1 flag aswell, they'll be half decent in a couple of years.

moreland wont win a d1 flag till they shorten the gap between their top 8 and their bottom 8 players in div 1. this most likely has to do with juniors.
they do have some very good players running around but they are in the mix with some of the worst div 1 players to pull on an orange jersey.
