Just wondering.. for anyone who uses a cascade as tendy
or more specifically a CPX and use the cascade throat guard that screws on..
is it worth the money to buy that, then to tie on a hockey style one or even the plastic cascade or warrior ones that hang down and swing around?

Cascade Tie-down Throat Guard
Pros: Easy to put on and take off. Great for goalies who also play other positions part time. Decent Protection. Cheap.
Cons: Flimsy. Flies around when you run. Can mose if you take a shot to the side of the throat.
Cascade Foam Throat Guard
Pros: Easy to install. Better Protection. Cheap.
Cons: Limited vision. It doesnt move, so you have trouble looking down.
Cascade C2 Throat Guard:
Pros: Great protection. Unaltered line of sight. Great for full-time goalies. Not too expensive.
Cons: Requires drilling your helmet.
All are great choices, it just depends on what your budget is, and how often you play goalie. Hope this helps.

it is for sure worth it. i started with the foam one and that thing was worthless. i got pegged in the throat and it did nothing. besides that one bein bad it looks really tacky
the ones that hang down most of the time dont even cover you throat so once again bad choice
finally, plastic screw on one. yes you do have to drill wholes but it is extremely easy thanks to the template it comes with. (if your buying a new helmet you can order it iwth it on and cascade does it for you) the clear ones also make u look like a pimp, and they have great mobility. I have also played all positions in games with it on and its fine never gets in the way( if u play anything besides goalie). The only thing i dont like is mine sometimes makes noise when i jog. it never moves when running but just a warmup jog is really annoying sometime.
All in all i would def but a plastic cascade throat guard i mean there less than 20 buck and really easy to install, and most importantly they have awesome protection

i'm with pockets. its your throat for petes sake!
back in college we played with the little hard plastic ones that tied onto your helmet, i got hit in it, and i got hit in the neck, but nothing bad enough to send me to the hospital. the foam ones that snap on are better, but still not as good as the dedicated ones that are screwed onto the chinpiece. you can play in the field with one of those without a problem, they are inexpensive, and the are far more protective than anything else out there
its completely worth it

i agree with spenny. when safety comes to mind, buy best protective. the c2 guard is awesome. doesnt really interfere with lokin down and doesnt fly up and down and smack your cage when you run. i highly reccomend it. i got hit there a few times and it hasnt cracked yet.

Plus, if you have a C2 and aren't playing goalie in a game for whatever reason, all you really need to do is unscrew it.

ya, puttin holes in the helmet isnt that bad, doesnt affect anything. and the c2, for those who didnt know, is the one that has to be screwed in. it can be clear or black and costs around 30 dollars.

yeah, i've got a cascade helmet, and i tied on a simple plastic throat guard. i play girls lacrosse with that on, but when i play with guys, i have a different more padded version.
