I played defense last year and im looking to play goalie this year. Since last year was my first year ever playing, and I didn't really practice with the goalie that much or really see and learn what types of drills he was doing. I was wondering what types of things the coaches have goalies do? I always heard him screaming out things to us. -such as top left, top right etc etc....--What was he doing- What does the goalie need to say, Do goalies just get shot on all practice long? What type of Gear should I get? such as chest pad, etc...
Call me the biggest nub on the planet, but I really do need the help.

Thanks for the help in advance

there are some things around the goalie forum as well that could help you out.

When your galie was saying top left, top right etc etc..., he was talking about the position of the ball. I would look through this thread (http://www.lacrosseforums.com/showthread.php?t=30138&highlight=Hot) to learn more about calling different plays.

For drills, I would look through this thread (http://www.lacrosseforums.com/showthread.php?t=10754&highlight=goalie%20Tips). It has a great compilation of drills that many goalies on this forum have talked about.

Good luck.
