I used the search for like 2 days and couldn't find what I was looking for. I am very interested in playing goalie this up and coming spring season. I am getting an STX: eclipse with a gait db8. I want to string this stick myself rather then paying $30 for some1 else to do it. What is the difference between all the diff. kinds of mesh? Which # mesh should a goalie have? Hard or soft? Can anyone list the things I will need to completely string a STX eclipse Length of a sidwall, # and legnth of shooters etc etc.... Im new at stringing all together so any help would be great!
Thanks in advance

this is all preference when it comes to diamond # but the larger the diamond the better the hold, the smaller the diamond the faster release
check the tutorials for string lengths
and good luck!

like drobinson said, the larger diamonds have better hold. 12 is the middle of hold and throwing. its liek 8 diamond on the regular mesh side. i use 12 and 10 depending on conditions but i would go with 12 if you want a really solid all around pocket. check around for lengths. someone did a 10 diamond tutorial on an eclipse so check that for lengths.

Look in the tutorial sticky in the Stick doctors lounge and it will tell you how to string a goalie stick, and how much string is needed. Also search mesh descriptions to find out the pros and cons of each.
here (http://lacrosseforums.com/showthread.php?t=42117&highlight=mesh+descriptions) is the link

i like both 12 diamond and monster. i dont know if everyone knew this but techincally there is no such thing as 6 diamond goalie, its just monster. the owner of lax unlimited told me this the other day.

6 diamond goalie is 12d goalie mesh. equivalency of meshes. if you read jimalax descriptions they state that and its common sense becasue 10d has the same diamond size as 5d, 6d the same as 12d, 7d the same as 14d, and so on.
