:banghead: Sorry, Im such a nub for all these questions. But I'm just starting goalie and Don't have any goalie gear. Could someone please list the things a Highschool goalie would need? like do goalies even where elbow pads? and they don't have the chest protector with shoulder pads do they? and what's the difference between "goalie" gloves and just regular gloves?

Thanks for the help guys

For gear which goalies use, look through this thread (http://www.lacrosseforums.com/showthread.php?t=29059&highlight=Gear). A lot of goalies have posted what they use.

The difference between goalie gloves and regular field gloves are that goalies have more thumb protection. This is the only thing that I know of.

Many goalies use hockey cups, added protection. But just go to your local sports store and just check out the cups and look at the ones that look good.

Yes that is what most goalies use. Cleats are also optinal with underarmour. I have played without both. For cups, go with any made specifically for goalies.

This is what I plan on getting for my self:
Helmet with throat guard: CPX w/ Black throat peice or Brine Triad
Chest Pad: Brine Eraser or STX Gladiator or DeBeer Icon or Gait Sentenial
Gloves: STX Gladiator Goalie
Stick: Eclipse/Abyss

Remember, this all prefrence.

well first thing i will tell u is u need to get goalie gloves its a must forsure

and i would also go with the CPX but i use clear throat guard
gloves i would say superfreaks, they are the most comportable and the thumb doesnt get in the way
stick: kpro with and eclipse or nemesis
chest pad: warrior goalie guard ( i would take off arm pads) I would NOT get the icon. that is what i use and for beginers its not the best cause it is a very thin pad but i love it

As for a cup, look for the "Brian's Pro Goaler" jock. It's made for hockey goalies, but doesn't restrict movement and won't let you down, so to speak. It's the best cup I've ever used. Alex Hewitt uses the "Tarzan" version.

Haha I love mine but, it has stiches on them! Your cup is the most important part of your gear get a hockey goalie one, yes its outragelously huge but its well worth it.

i have to say, i love the superfreaks. but after one season my palms were starting to rip out, so i bought deft's and they've got a little more pretection ands stronger palm. i think they look nicer also

yes, the c2 will fit on the cpx, the c2 was made for the cpx and cpro. glove wise, i have to say im a deft user, one of the best goalie gloves made. protective and flexible. and for cup...well...i go between 2 different ones, the shockdoctor cup and shorts, and my itech jock with shockdoctor cup. i like the shockdoctor becasue my last one lasted for over a year and took a couple of shots and dont have a scratch or crack, so its protective. its also very light.
