Throat Guards Explained
The throat guard; an important piece of protective equiptment for any goalie. Are you having trouble deciding which throat guard is right for you though? This guide will go through the basic "pro's" and "con's" of each style.

Cascade Tie-down Throat Guard

Pro's: Easy to put on and take off. Great for goalies who also play other positions part time. Decent Protection. Cheap.
Con's: Flimsy. Flies around when you run. Can move if you take a shot to the side of the throat.

Price Range: $8-$10

Cascade Foam Throat Guard

Pro's: Easy to install. Better Protection. Cheap.
Con's: Limited vision. It doesnt move, so you have trouble looking down.

Price Range: $10-$13

Cascade C2 Throat Guard:

Pro's: Great protection. Unaltered line of sight. Great for full-time goalies. Not too expensive.
Con's: Requires drilling your helmet.

Price Range: $20-$35


All are great choices, it just depends on what your budget is, and how often you play goalie. Hope this helps.
