iv been playing goalie for a number of years, but i can never find the perfect mesh. i dont want to put htis in stick/equiptment forum because its a goalie question. i feel like i either have to sacrifice hold for throwing or throwing for hold. anyone know what to do because this really annoys me. im not particularly good at stringing goalie heads, only shorties. what should i get.

I would try 14D...It stays hard too, and has a good blend of hold and passing ability.

alright, cus i have 12d right now and its really really annoying me. i used to have monster (correct name is monster not 6d for those of you who think that) and that was pretty good. its not like im a newb i just never really bothered to experiment with the different meshes because i was ignorant about it.

20d=god. if you string it up the way i do (via endlesfimbulvent ) you get a low whip channel that is pretty deep.

I posted a thread a while back about a sculpted mesh design.
Great channel and no rebound. You don't even need a throwing string.

20d or 12d. a good 12d thats broken in correctly can be one of the best pockets you could have. it has great hold and can throw great clears. it can develop a good channel too. 20d is the same, somoetimes a loteasier to breakin. the rebound is low with 20d if you break it in fully. one trick ive learned with goalie mesh is you have to restrict the depth a bit, if you fully break it in you want to string a shallower pocket beccause the breaking in will soften the mesh and if there is more room for the mesh to expand then it will contour the ball better and give no rebound. also, if you do hthat correctly, you can get a really flimsy pocket with no rebound and little - no whip.
