I just started lifting lower body and my legs are really sore. I've been running every night and I would like to keep this up too. Am I better off jogging a couple of miles with my legs still being so sore, or just waiting a day or two for the soreness to go away and then sprinting.

I would say running sore. Soreness is just from muscles you havent really used.

Switch it up. Run in the morning, lift at night, lift in the morning, run at night. Take a day off once or twice a week. Up your protein intake, etc.

I can't run in the morning, and the only time I can lift is right after school. Should I expect to be pretty sore after each time I lift? As in I sort of limp around.

just keep running on it is what i would do take some pain reliever and maybe ice it down. its also from doing too many miles too quick. So just slow it down.

Do a deep rud with some heat ( A5-35) before and after, and learn youre limits. Just remember its much easier to play with stiff musles than torn ones.

You shouldnt be limping, no. But if you want the gains, I told you how to do it. Lifting and running without a significant break isn't going to let you have enough recovery time.

First off, you should learn to work out with moderation. If you hurt yourself, then it's because you tried too much.

I can't run in the morning because of school, otherwise I would. It's not like I just don't want to. Is not running on some days something that's going to really hurt me? What if I ran every day after the day I did lower body? I'll be lifting 3 times a week and switching between upper and lower body every day.

just run the days after you lift, thats what i do it's a little harder and your are a little sore but then you have a day off to recover and you can do it again every other day and then on weekends too

Try not to run too much. I hurt my quad that way. Now everytime i run, it hurts like 15 minutes later.

Riot. You COULD get up earlier and run is all I'm saying. Lots of people get up at 5:30am for a run before school or work.

Yeah, except I've been getting up at around 5:30 to go to school normally. I can't drive and my dad has to get to work early so I get to school like 45 minutes early.

Maybe spend that 45 mins running around the oval or football field or anywere...Unless theres something else to do that early...

Riot, I should follow my own advice. Without proper streching and warm-up yesterday, I did some sprinting and jumping. All of sudden at work, my back was hurting. Once in a while I have a sudden pain that seems like stabbing in the back. I put ice on it, but know very well it will last about a week. I have playoffs starting on Wednesday, which leaves me merely 5 days. I'll see the chiro on Monday.
