Big Apple Shootout - June 19 and 20

I'm driving up from VA tomorrow to play in the first annual Big Apple Shootout on Randall's Island. Anyone that lives out that way should stop by, laxin all day, starting at 10 AM, continuing over into Sunday, not to mention huge afterparties (should you be of a legal and consenting age, youngsters). I'm playing for a team called Donkeys, altho we are listed as Connelly's (which is a tavern, I believe) due to a last minute sponsorship. Some other teams of note in the men's open include: Crease Monkeys, Jesters, Team Dale, and Rhinos. I know that Crease Monks are playing in the Charm City Classic this weekend in the NOVA/DC/MD area so I don't know which Monkeys are where, they usually have an impresssive array of former pro, current pro, and world team members. So none of you have any excuse to not watch some excellent lax this weekend should be you in one of those 2 areas.

I know and play pick up with some of the Jesters...tho they dont know my forums personality so they wouldnt have a clue if you asked them about stegs...

Well that's no good now is it :-) It should be a fun time if you swing by, try and introduce yourself to me this time if you come, not like in Silver Spring... :laugh

Hey, I'd go if I could play...I was at the Laxpower game longest. I ran midfield for most of the game, then some attack. Had a fair share of goals. Wore all white with the crappy black brine helmet that almost broke mt nose when that roanoke defender smashed my dome. You were playing D? Which one were you? I only met Spenny and I came with Stegs. This sounds like a good tourney...

I played D for green, snakeskin bionic, I also had a midriff-style belly showing thanks to my rhino skin + jersey :-)
