Play. More. Wallball.

'Nuff said, playing wallball once or twice a week won't really cut it.

Always have your stick with you. I wasn't able to play last season due to some family issues, but I was able to compensate by always carrying my stick with me. Practice cradling off handed and even do some stick tricks because it definitely helps. You should get a sense of how the ball sits in your head and you'll have a better idea of what you can and can't do without the ball falling out. I don't have a wall to throw against regularly but since i'm always doing stick tricks like twirls, stalls, btb everything, etc., my skills are pretty up to par if not better than most of my classmates'.

you need to wallball all the time everyday possible definitely more then 2 weeks

wall ball:
50 righty and lefty
25 throw right catch left
25 throw left catch right
30 quick stick righty
30 quick stick lefty
(push yourself... if you drop a pass start your count again)

footwork:
jump rope
ladder drills
etc..

that should definitely help

that's pretty much what I do EVERY afternoon/night. the only way to get better is to practice all the time. try and push your self, everyone drops a ball now and then so just pick it up and keep working. Also try to wallball with music, i find that it helps me find my rythm/tempo better and you don't get bored or distracted.

As eveyrone else has said just practiec & practice...repeat & repeat until you're strating tog et the hang of it...other then throwing just lefty & righty make sure to try & get hte ball where you know it's difficult to catch....If you have trouble w/ over-the-shoulder passes throw some high & hard enough for you to have enough time to turn around & catch it like it's coming from a goalie (if you're not at that point yet then just have a friend feed you the ball continuously)....Throw some really hard & lower to the ground...throw some off stick side...just continue to try what you haven't mastered yet in practice so come game-day you aren't trying to figure out how to catch a short outlet pass

you catch it and release it in 1 motion. Don't spin the stick or craddle the ball, just get rid of it right away.

Stick tricks are fun and do increse skill but only to a point. Remember they are fun to do but they won't help you in a game. Focus mainly on skills you will use in a game. Play wall ball as much as possible (5 or more times per week w/ gloves) and carry your stick with you as much as possible. I play everyday and I'm always carrying my stick where ever I go, even if its to the mail box. Here's a good wall ball practice...

50 Right (25ft. from wall)
50 Left (25 ft. from wall)

100 Right (15 ft. from wall)
100 Left (15 ft. from wall)

100 Throw right catch left & visa versa (15 ft. from wall)

50 Quick Stick w/ Right (10 ft. from wall)
50 Quick Stick w/ Left (10 ft. from wall)

50 Inclose w/ right (5 ft. from wall)
50 Inclose w/ left (5 ft. from wall)
*Add variety...Do 5 perpendicular and then 5 square to the wall. Make sure you use wrist strength, snaping your wrists while keeping arm and shoulder movement to a minimum.Try quick sticking it and if you feel comfortable enough try one handed. This will increase stick speed as well as build forearm muscle.*

25 Split Dodge Right & Left (15 ft. from wall)
25 Face Dodge Right & Left (15 ft. from wall)

25 On the Run Right & Left (15-20 ft. from wall)
*Throw right, run left, and catch w/ right hand backhanded. Then switch to left and repeat.*

25 Behind the Back w/ Right (10-15ft. from wall)
25 Behind the Back w/ Left (10-15ft. from wall)
*Throw backhanded and catch normal*

25 Ground Balls w/ Right
25 Ground Balls w/ Left
*Remember to do TWO HANDED SCOOPS. No one handed scoops. I'm sure some of you have been yelled at by your coaches for doing this.*

Remember to push yourself. Don't rush through it. Take your time but make sure your going a steady and fast paste. If you drop the ball restart your count.

If you do this your stick skills will greatly increse.
