How come only mods can change the titles of threads once they have been posted?

Ask a mod to help you. Mods can change this stuff, but only for legitimate requests.

I think Snake~Eyes or someone once mentioned that with VBulletin, in order to give someone the ability to edit a thread title, you would have to also give them the ability to edit a lot of other things that only mods should edit.

How about being able to delete posts? I'd assume that it'd allow people to delete double posts themselves. Not sure if there is any justification for not having it, but I have a foggy memory of it coming up before...

I don't think you can give the "deletion" power without giving more then needed.
I could be wrong...but as far as I know you can't.

I think if you wanted to delete a post you could just click edit and erase the word, or esase the words and replace them with ,,,,.....0998y987y or other meaningless things.

Or, instead of writing meaningless junk you could say something like, "oops mods please delete." or "double post please delete". And with the whole 30sec post interval double posts are pretty rare.

you can edit yor title if you go the the first post you made when you started the thread and edit that

No, no you can't. It says "edit title" but it does absolutley nothing.
