Not really man.

Victoria and SA have fledgling leagues and NSW have some sort of a box league. BUt they really border on the social. Not to say that there's no talent but yeah.

Bluedevil49 is the man to talk to about box down here.

mmm yea i live just outa sydney which is where the box is played.

Ive never played before so im not fussed about the nsw leagues (if there social or not) i just want experience. But im hoping that a box league starts in a few years (like the ALL) cause i think box is more intense, but on that note i think NSW needs to establish a field team to compete, i would be keen to play for nsw when i get ... Alot better lol.

Sofar i have gotten a few ppls in and we are ordering sticks off auslax, most of us play ice hockey so we have gear to play rec down here and just have fun lol and then take it from there.

Anyways thanks for the help and ignore my useless rambling.

SA had an organised league at the beginning of this year and will have one again starting in January of next year. It's a quite a step below the box lacrosse I played in Canada, but it's a pretty good start. If I can manage to convince guys to play box rather than field indoors it will really fun to play in a couple of years.

DM, will the teams have proper coaches this year and do some training, so those such as myself who have little knowledge of box could get a better understanding?

I hope to run some training sessions for all interested players as well as giving the referee's a briefing before the season starts.

Are you reffering to NSW? or do you mean all over aus?

We had a sic box comp down in tassie, played on an indoor rollerhockey court, no coaches and we reffed all our own games but pretty fun.

the problem with box lacrosse in australia is there are no actual box clubs, mabey 15% of the guys who play field lacrosse choose to play box as a secondary sport. there are not even enough guys from any one club to put a box team together, so the box teams are usually guys from 2 or 3 clubs, it very much ranks second in importance behind field.

Maybe in Victoria. In Adelaide the current South Australian Champs are the Sturt Devils (Check my avatar). The season due to start in January will most likely see 3 clubs go it alone and Sturt possibly field 2 teams.

National champs in January should be a bit of fun.

mate we had a comp a couple of years ago with 4 teams. yes they were composite teams which made it a much fairer contest instead of the dominating field team dominating box aswell.if there was a proper box league it would out rank field

Where are they being held ?
Adelaide Blackwood Recreation Centre where we play our tournament pretty good location but gets pretty hot in there and there is a raised viewing area for spectators as well as room around the boards to watch
