Here’s an idea for a chance to mix it up and play with a bunch of different players and put on a good game. How about a SA all-star game with players picked from the following clubs:

TEAM A - Glenelg, Brighton, Woodville, East Torrens
TEAM B – Burnside, Sturt, North Adelaide, West Torrens

Lets say you had to pick at least 2 players from each team as the only rule so that all clubs are represented to draw a decent crowd.

What are your thoughts on some possible line-ups for good game of lax???

Sounds like a good idea, They did a similar thing over here for the under 17's a few years ago with an east vs west match that was held before one of the aussie under 19 squad matches.

Was thinking about the same thing only a few days ago!! I believe WA has an all-star game as a regular feature on their calendar. I think it would be a great showcase, maybe as a curtain-raiser to the women's league final at Port Adelaide.

I would divide the clubs as such:
North/West: Glenelg, Woodville, West Torrens, North Adelaide, (Adelaide Uni?)
South/East: Brighton, Sturt, Burnside, East Torrens

And agree with having at least 2 reps from each club (1 in Uni's case, if they have any player strong enough). Have squads of about 17, enough for 3 midfield strings and a spare goalie.

Ideally I would have the two teams as north and south, but I think at present the southern clubs are too strong in comparison (Glenelg, Brighton, Sturt & Burnside vs Woodville, West Torrens, East Torrens and North Adelaide). Maybe that is something to aim for in future

Great idea! Maybe an all-star game staright after the season and help the selection process for the ALL? The clubs should be done like Western Reds and Easter Eagles in the junior grades i.e.

I would divide the clubs as such:
West: Glenelg, Brighton, Woodville, West Torrens,
East: North Adelaide, Sturt, Burnside, East Torrens

this sort of thing used to happen in Vic many moons ago. it died out basically because there was no interest in it. im not sure that it was on any sort of club lines though. anyone who REALLY wants to see can probably buy video's of it from auslax

way to make the clubs very un even not trying tp put down north or etp but the east would get slaughtered even though sturt and burnside would rock it out, id agree with the south/east

i remember being very excited for the last 'planned' one in Vic, rocked up ready to play only to hang around and wait for nobody to rock up.
The game doesn't seem to have enough depth to have full support with these events sadly.

Nah it'd be at least 3 as I am a registered player in South Australia.

Stick with the first team from SA, VIC, WA. have it at the end of the season and see who is the best club team in the country. when club pride is on the line, people will play.

Did I read this right? You want the best teams from Vic and WA to play in a South Australian All-Star game?

Either I'm missing what you are saying or you've replied to the wrong thread.

Unless I'm mistaken, this thread is about getting the best players from all the South Australian clubs into two teams to play each other once a year.

Shooter, sounds like a great idea. It seems better than the previous idea of the state team playing against the imports/Aussie/U-19 team. Down side is that someone will have to raise a hand to get this going.

Well its all a great idea but from last seasons league who would you guys think be in the all star team if they were

North/West: Glenelg, Woodville, West Torrens, North Adelaide
South/East: Brighton, Sturt, Burnside, East Torrens

which i think would be pretty even bare in mind 2 players from each club one wild card from adelaide uni on each team i think would be good

How about 4 from each club, one required to be under 21.
