i am personally a skins fan. seeing them play last year and making the playoffs was great, i expected them to come out this season and do even better. what do you guys think went wrong, i think that they made too many changes personel-wise

What went wrong was a heavily injured Defense that had no depth to pressure the opposing offense, and an Offensive line that's a wall one week and a seive the next.
That's mainly the problem. It also took too long to gel into Saunder's offense.
What isn't the problem: Brunell. A lot of people would like to say bench him for Campbell. There isn't a reason to. Age isn't a factor, it's protection, which he isn't getting. Plus Campbell needs gametime situations outside of preseason for experience, something that won't happen if he isn't moved up to the 2nd slot over the horrible Collins. Now if the season continues to take a wrong turn I say start giving him the 4th quarter or most of the second half to get him more used to playing starters, though as long as Mark is healthy and gets adequate protection there is no need for a QB controversy when we have to fix the team elsewhere.

yeah, as roycegracie said... there is no reason to bench brunell, contrary to what everyone is saying (as much as i would love to see Jason Campbell start).
We just cant block anyone... which gives brunell no time in the pocket. Hes not as mobile as he used to be with Jacksonville, so he cant escape the pressure as well, which ends up in sacks, incomplete passes, and sometimes interceptions.

Exactly. I know everyone wants to see Campbell. I want to see Campbell. But remember the QB of the future Patrick Ramsey? We can't rush him into this.
Another problem: we don't like draft picks/ We've made some good trades but are lame ducks for the next few drafts. That's going to hurt.

on paper, we have a great defense. in every position there is talent. yea i dont know what happened to the o-line, they have always been solid until this year.

Their free agent signings haven't been very productive. Brandon Lloyd has played only mediocre, and Randle El hasn't been very good as a WR, only on special teams. Not to mention a tough final 9 games, with my fair and honest predictions beside each game.
Nov 5 Dallas W: The skins come off the bye week full of confidence and defeat the overconfident cowboys.
Nov 12 @Philadelphia L: Going from a home win to a rivals home is tough, and the skins cant handle phillys agreessive play and fans
Nov 19 @Tampa Bay W: The Redskins take down the doomed Bucs in a rematch of last years divisional playoff game.
Nov 26 Carolina L: In a game of fighting to stay alive for the playoffs, the skins can't capatilize Carolina's larger will for a win
Dec 3 Atlanta W: With their defense back to form, the redskins get a key win at home, against a talented but inconsistent Atlanta Offense
Dec 10 Philadelphia W: Despite being a better team, Philly loses as the Redskins beat their rival at home.
Dec 17 @New Orleans L: The Redskins won't get in the way of the Saint's comeback season, and are dismantled in front of the Saints fans
Dec 24 @St. Louis W: The skins barely manage a win in St. Louis, but St. Louis fails to regroup after a bad first half.
Dec 30 N.Y. Giants W: In the last game of the season the redskins take down a rival at home, to end the season on a good note.
Final record 8-8 miss the playoffs. I am a die hard Redskins fan, but this is my honest opinion.

It's a fair assessment. The Skins have never dealt well with a scrambling QB no matters whose calling the plays. ST Louis will also be tough, they're playing well and it's in ST. Louis, meaning the greatest show on turf may show up...Don't matter to me though. I think win each sunday whether it happens or not.
Personally I think ARE is becoming a better Skin. The past few games (that fabulous return aside) he has had better production as that short over the middle yardage WR, and his PRs definatley have made a difference on special teams.
Lloyd is starting to get more looks, just not enough. Fortunately it mans Cooley is becoming an option again.
The big bust. Patten. I was excited to get him last year but he went down and never really recovered other than that one HUGE catch against Dallas. And Duckett. There was no need to go after him, I think it was a knee jerk reaction to the possibility of Portis being out for more than 2 games, when Betts is a more than capable back and Cartwright knows how to run well too. Plus, put the rutting ball in Mike Sellers' hands. When he gets the rock, he moves downhill and almost all his shortyard catches last year equaled TD cause no one covers him. That man could do wonders if we let him.

actual impression: after another year or two and we're used to saunders offense we're gonna be insane, getting into the rythem of a playbook in excess of 400 pages has got to be tough.
mystical impression: Tom Cruise has cursed our team, and we will continue to lose until he is ritually sacrificed in fedex stadium. LONG LIVE LORD ZENU!!!

It's spelled Xenu and my plan involves sending him to the opposing sideling to audit their QB. He'll be too concerned with his thetan level to see Marcus Washington saying hello.
Of course I have been a long time Cruise fan so of cousre I'd use him to my advantage against the other team.
