Need help with a contradiction of feelings..

Ok, heres the deal.
When I string my sticks I love the feeling of the incredibly smooth release of rolled shooters. You know, the ball just rolls out as if there are no shooters at all. Except, I also like the feeling of weaved shooters, being able to feel the ball roll off every shooter, knowing exactly where it is at all times. Does anybody know how, or even if it is possible to get both at the same time?
Have the really smooth release of rolled shooters, but also have the feeling of weaved shooters at the same time.

I was thinking maybe rolled shooters with nylons in between the shooters?

Or Possibly, have three staight weaved, rolled, rolled.
Or a u two striaght
weaved, weaved, rolled?

Or weave the first half of the shooter from one side to the other than roll it back.

i was thinking the nylon idea.

just like have a nylon across the front of the mesh when you roll them, and roll the shooter around the nylon. (i hope that made sense.)

its kind asking for two contradicting things at the same time. like asking for something both heavy and light, what you want is to compromise. i think there ideas are great, and you should jsut try everything you think of and find something you love.

just use the nylons. thats how i did the shooters in my pulse and it felt amazing. it was so smooth but so controling at the same time. no lace, just nylon.

I've found you can get a smooth release and be able to "feel" the ball release by rolling shooters right next to each other so their is no space between the shooters. Other than that you could just expieriment and tell us what works.

my shooter setup...look for my nemmy thread in the stick doctors lounge. i think its called "a little goalie action"...those shooters are what i call double roll shooters...theyre a combo of rolled and weaved. you can feel the ball sometimes and sometimes it just feels like the ball is taking off by itself, it depends where you release.

Try a mix between rolled and weaved

Instead of rolling around the loose string on the back of the mesh, weave that part somehow, then roll around it?

i actually came up with a new way of doing shooters. I cant post pics because my mom currently has the digital camera in california with her.
Its like rolled, in the sense that it goes between two rows of diamonds. you start off by rolling it across the mesh just like you would do rolled shooters, but without the other half of the shooter on the back of the mesh. then you go back the other way, rolling it again, but going the other way, ( i cant really explain it, but the shooter should look like a bunch of X's. If this thread is still here i will post pictures when the camera comes back in like a week.

Go weaved with some nylons in there. Seems to work with me, Ill go experiment with some other possibilities and tell you with what I come up with.

I know what you're talking about, and here's what I do whenever I want a stick that has that nasty-like release:

put a rolled crosslace nylon about three diamonds down from the scoop, a rolled shooter below that, and a U shooter about 4/5 diamonds wide below that

pull the U semi-tight, the rolled shooter tighter than that, and then pull the nylon shooter pretty darn tight. if you're not using a head notorious for lip, the ball will release off the shooters and tap the scoop for that perfect release

I know EXACTLY what you're talking about and it's sick. it's just a pain in the you-know-what to tighten and loosen.

try rolling the shooters, but instead of putting the lace in back put it in front
