very smooth ad. i too love the way they do that whole backwards thing. i have seen it in a few video clips and i reckon its a sweet concept.

but yeh definately a winner for maverik and definately stands out from the rest.

Didn't like the ad. I know most of their product line is lifestyle stuff, only just now getting into equipment, but I would have rather seen more on the field stuff like at the beginning of the commercial (more so if they just ran it like a pick up game, though casual throw around is fine too) than strutting around.

thats not exactly easy to do, seeing as the idea was to make it seem like it was normal. so in all the walking scenes, they were really walking backwards, trying to make it look as if they were walking forwards

I'm not talking about the camera techniques. I had already read in thhis thread that it was shot backwards, neat idea but not amazing, and I liked the first shots that took place on field. I'm talking what was presented. Them just strutting around (forwards or backwards) for most of the comercial didn't really sell me as much as playing or passing around could have.

Understandably only the lax communtiy really knows Maverik, but if I was trying to promote a line of products across the board I'd aim to show what the athletes that represent what the line can do and what they can do with it, not that they can strut around like they own the place.
