this may have been discussed before but when searched nothing came up. why is it that you rarely see anyone with a nylon U or V in their pocket? about the only exception i found was for girls heads, and i dont think your even allowed to use lace for them.

its because the ball doesnt roll off the nylon as well, the nylon is like a bump that screws with the throw. shooters are softer...thats how i view it.

Because usually the top shooting string is straight. I don't think you would want to put a U/V nylon above a straight shooter. Also, it doesn't really serve a purpose; it wouldn't really create any more hold (I personally use a U for hold), and the release wouldn't be any different if you had just used a straight nylon.

cali, no. i mean instead of a lace U, you use a nylon. it would still be below all of the other shooters.

They tend to cause undesired whip even when extremely loose. At least in my findings.

because they're illegal
why would they be illegal? i've actually tried this in my torque, but it just creates a "bump" when you throw unless you have like 5 in a row that are pretty loose

Ah I misinterpreted(sp?) the question. I think it's because it doesn't really add anything but a bumpy release, or whip.

I think it's time we brought back the sarcasm-meter.....

Who needs the sarcasm meter anyways? [8]

yea like everyone else has stated because most of the time they cause whip unless maybe you use some crosslace, but im not sure how well that would work either

occationally ill throw a nylon under the v if its a wider head and i need some more hold or whil, but otherwise, its isn't a good idea for a U or a V, but in any stick i use, except for one, i always have a nylon instead of a top hockey lace.
