What is the "butterfly" shape/grip on the STX:Vandium like? What is it's shape? How can you describe it? Is it like a db803 or a brine: magnum flipgrip or is it something totally different when it comes to feel/grip?

Also, I see they make a Vandium Grip, but what type of grip is on it? Is it a sort of rubberized finish or a sticky grip? What's it feel like? Is it rough or smooth?

And, anyone know anything about all these Scandiumn shafts? STX makes one and Brine makes 3 of them!! Whats the deal? What material can they be closely compared to, for example, are they like a c405 when it comes to wieght and strength or durability? Does anyone know what the "comfort" grip feels like on the scandium that brine makes? Would you suggest a brine scandium, stx scandium, or stx vandium (I know its preference I just wanna see whats popular and what everyone thnks)?

the vanadium shaft grip is like a power/flip grip. i recently went to check it out at my local cal lax. it is pretty durable looking, but i went with the zirconium because it was like the kungfu grip.

i love my vandium. the grip has raised edges(isnt round like the stx axe) its also similar to some of the brine shafts. it is really nice for the price.

but the power grip and flip grip are 2 different things. so which is it? does the "butterfly" feel rounded and smooth or a little more "squary" and/or edgy?

anyone know anything about the brine scandium comfort grip?
how come brines scandium is like $20 cheaper than STX's scandium? Is STX's just "better" in quality or something?

Smooth and Rigid aren't what seperates the powergrip and flipgrip...
They are completly differnt polygons.
A Powergrip is a normal octagon with the edges extended
a flipgrip is where the top is normal and then it gets skinner than it gets wide again..

I kinda understand what your talking about, but am still a little confused. I guess I have to see it to understand it.

On another note, whats the feel of a STX Scandium like? More rounded and smooth (like a thrust or Kpro) or is it something else? And, what is the grip on the Vandium Grip? I see it for sale in the Great Atlantic but never noticed it until now. Is it like a Harrow grip or something else?

STX Scandiums are a lot like Kpros.

From what I've heard, the Brine SC21 scandium is a bit heavier than the STX Scandium (though still lighter than an axe), but is stronger (that's just from searching).

I guess I'm just gonna have to take a trip to a store and see them all for myself.

The butterfly grip is like a flip grip but not as extreme. It has an even radius on the dead center of the shaft. Sorry if I didnt explain it well.

i have 2 stx scandiums and i love them 1 thing i wold suggest is if you get one dish out the extra 20$ for a d pole and then cut it down because then you have two shafts

Do they weigh the same as normal attack length shafts?
