The past couple of threads i've posted have all been to help me narrow down what kind of head i want to get. I no that some heads on the market have a very rounded scoop (evo pro) other have more of a flat scoop. I know that round has the advantage but flat makes you go closer to the ground.

I play LSM and i wanna know would this matter at all for me when im getting ground balls and can you give me a better explaination then the one i gave

P.S. for all those who say "its the wizard not the wand", i practice every day and if i can get the littlest bit of help ill take it.

More times with heads that have flat scoops you have to get low to keep the scoop from getting caught in the grass. Curved/V-scoops scoops allow the player to not need to get low to scoop the ball up.

ya but if you play LSM, and you get GB's with your hands near the but, then i think it wouldnt really matter. i dont try that hard to get a GB with my pole even with a flat scooped head (i get GB with hands near but) and its easy for me.

The only reason i ask is my varsity coach (im on JV presently) has been bugging me about getting on those ground balls. I practice every day but game sitiuations seem to have me swipeing at the ball 1-2 time before getting it in my stick. This stuff only happens befrore a game though.

Easiest ground ball heads for poles are the older STX heads, Turbo, Viper, Dominator. out of new heads, I actually like the E3 and the Rocket's scoops. They are flat in the middle, and rounded on the ends, so they are somewhere in the middle of being a mohawk(flat) and an evo pro (round) anything in the middle should be your best bet.

I like a nice flat scoop for D. Like an edge or E3. I find it easier to do GB's.

The more Round the scoop, the less down you have to go..
The flatter the scoop the futhuer down you have to go..
E3=Very Flat
Torque=Very Round.

For LSM quick ground balls are in order so would i be safe with a more round head vs the flat ones.

well, flatter scoops help with the fundementals of getting a ground ball. like get low pick up the ball. round scoops help with 1 handed pick ups and indina pick up. things that are more for collegiete and MLL players

well, in my experience, flat scoops which as said you have to get lower to the ground to get you also can have a hard time keeping the ball in the head so you have to learn to cradle after you scoop so the ball doesnt come out. and with a round or v type scoop its easier to keep in the head but u kinda have to practise scooping with it. i had a hard time with my torque from my evo. but thats just me.
