Today I tried out the new maverik glove, elbow pads, and chest protector. I'm happy to say that the gloves were very broken-in feeling and the chest protector will probably be on my list because its got just the right amount of bulk. However, the gloves don't really feel super-protective and obviously don't look as flashy as some other gloves (who cares, IMO) but are very cheap and servicable at around 120 bucks. John Gaglieardi (sp?) was there to sign autographs and the like and I tried to pry information out of him about his new head. The only thing he told me was when I asked if it was offset he said its offset for all intents and purposes but legally it is not. Basically sounds like some how they found out how to get around the offset patent. Anyways, that was the real information since I know many people have talked about the gloves and pads.

sounds kinda like warrior, stx, and gait for the way to get around the offset.

stx:foward cant
gait:canted bottom rails
warrior: went the distance and got newbalance to buy brine lol.

yeahhh.. but stx got busted on their "forward cant". now they have to pay brine a fee if they want an offset head.. hence all this crankshaft crap.

i always thought STX got around the offset with the foward cant though. it was just the first gen proton and some other heads wasnt it?
