im disappointed in the fact that the 2007 sticks are based solely on the crankshaft. no conventional heads for 07. that should hurt them.....

while that may be, STX is trying to make crankshaft the new thing, and the only way they can do it is by supporting it as much as they can. I can definately see STX (if it dosn't start losing sales) releasing all (or a majority) new heads in only crankshaft format.

I am not one to voice my opinion often with all of you inferior beings, just kidding of course, but I personally hate the crankshaft. The ball/stick feels no different that any other head/shaft combo that I have used before. When I saw the X3 on laxworld a while back I got very excited seeing that they were going to make yet another generation of one of the best selling heads on the market. Excitement turned into disappointment quickly once I found out that it would be a crankshaft. Everyone has their own opinion, some like Orange personally like it a lot and others like myself like the feel of a traditional shaft with a traditional offset. In my opinion it was just another marketing ploy to make some money, and from what I can see they have been doing just that so congratulations STX...I guess. Do not get me wrong though, I know that every company has their crazy new ideas, but I do not think that they market it as much as the crankshaft is marketed. It is sad though that my once favorite company has turned "new age" and gone to the dark side of gimmicks. If they were to make both crankshaft compatible and straight shaft compatible heads I think they would make a lot more money and find many more and many new buyers.

i cant see STX going to only crankshaft, because its not popular with Dpoles, as oit serves no purpose. same with goalies

i have nothing against the CS i just wish they made a regular version for people who have normal shafts that dont have money to dish out for the CS or CS Ti

The Contender came out as a 2006 product. So, basically, no new goalie stuff for 2007. In fact, the Gladiator line doesn't even seem to be in the 2007 catalog.
