I just started goalie. Should I be playing wall ball now? I can throw a good behind the head/ Left handed/ Under Legs pass.... not that I'll ever need that..unless we are winning by 20.. .. I'm probally not going to have to short pass on clears much... A senior told me not to worry about wallball.. do you guys agree? :dummy:

Play wallball as much as you can. Being able to clear is just as important as being able to save the ball. Work on clears on the run both hands.

wall ball is for every position, from the day your born, till the day you die.

if you just started playing goalie, possibly from another position, a goalie stick is alot heavier, so you would need to get you arm in shape.
and a goalie stick has a very different feel than a normal stick.

a lot of wall ball is good. try to throw the ball at about double your height or so, thats what your clears should be like.

Keep the wall ball in the training. I just turned 53 and I still use it. I also use a small red brick wall to throw at sometimes. The bricks are not all aligned correctly and the
rebound from the wall can be in any direction, this helps the reflex reacting to the unknown rebound.

Yeah I know I can like throw behind my head and stuff.. I got short passing down... But I need to work on clearing... Just throw it straight & hard over the shoulder I guess. I'll post a pic of my Goalie head so you guys can tell me if you think it has too much whip.

Throw as much as you can.
Are you going to run after school tomorrow.
If you are, I'll stay, and throw w/ you and play some wallball and whatnot.
Also...I'd probably save the under the legs and behind the head stuff for when you play a team of 3rd graders. :chuckle:...(Which would be very fun.)

Couldn't stay after wednesday (today) because I had my DMV test. But i'll more than likely be there after school. BTW: do we have practice tomorrow?

wallball is very important it works well to build up arms if you do it every day and other stuff, just dont break a window...like me... finda windoless wall, a really big wall.
