cranks and high shots i can deal with, but 5 hole just pisses me off. its something i try to work on, even close encounter shots up close that will go 5 hole, i always work on my reaction getting down. when they do go in, it gets me so pissed.

a shot by a goalie that usually goes extremely slow and then it goes in.lol :agree:
but that has never happened to me, so its all good.

Shots from far out going stickside high which could have been stopped esaily. I just hate it when I let one of those in.

Deffinitly embarrasing when a goalie scores on you, so deffinitly not that. the other is those realllll slow bouncers from in tight that should be the easiest save but you move your hand so fast, you MISS IT! omg so embarassing and irritating.
The other would be an outside shot that goes right above your stick, and you miss it! yuck.
Oh and i absolutly hate being scored in the 5-hole (between the legs)

i have never been scored on five hole. i dont understand why people have a problem with it. but the the ones i hate the most are:
shots from far out that are rocketing towards stick side high and i miss because i jiggled my stick.
shots that hit you and then go in.

Yeah, definaty for me, its a feed to the crease man, but he misses the pass, and it goes
right
in
the
goal.
Definatly not fun. Good thing it only happened twice since I started playing.

I hate it when the attackmen do the behind the back shots, cause its hard for me to see the ball come out, and it makes me look stupid when it goes in.
nemiman18
11-07-2006, 08:22 PM
i hate behind the back shots when the kid thinks hes big crap and he fakes a whole lot and then goes behing theback and you are so amazed that someone could be that gay so he scores
Guardian_Keeper
11-07-2006, 08:56 PM
yah behind the back and 1 0n 1. i dont like being played with so yeah. behind the back is frustrating because they celebrate in my face and i just want to beat the tar out of them
paul8
11-07-2006, 09:08 PM
the goalie that i play with scored on himself one time. he scooped a groundball on the crease and swung his stick back too far and too fast trying to make a quick oulet pass. i think that takes the cake
IrishGoalie
11-07-2006, 09:40 PM
I can deal with crank shots cause to be honest for me there easy tricks are eh but when i first started i hate goin 1v1 with guys who could like go to shoot but make it so the ball doesnt come out then when i go to save it in the direction he was aiming he would always shoot it the opposite, it pissed me off.
DeftGoalie28
11-08-2006, 12:06 PM
The worst would be if you get scored on by another goalie but since that rarely happens... I would have to say definately a 1v1 where the person goes behind the back or between the legs just to make himself look good. That really angers me... seriously your already have an extremely high chance of scoring there's no need to make yourself look good.
But on the other hand if you save it you looks amazing and they look stupid

11-08-2006, 01:09 PM
behind the back shots are the worst. Your mirroring the attackman's stick and he pulls a fast one over his shoulder. My team captain does this a lot at practice, i never stop it.

goalies, i feel for you. im a middie, but listen to this: this kid thought he was hot and tried a behind the back shot. i was running with him and he started doing it. i THWACKED his stick so hard that i cracked the head in two pieces. and it was that new brine head, the pulse, which is about oh i dont know $120? he was so pissed at me, but our keeper couldnt stop laughing. ahh lacrosse stories never get old

catching ti and about to clear it and it falls out into the goal very unlikely but happened in practice before

11-16-2006, 09:16 PM
Really really slow shots that you see perfectly and clearly, but for some odd reason, the go STRAIGHT in.
But nothing is worse than getting hit by the ball just to let it it. I definitely had the worst bruise I've ever had from our regional game and the ball going in.

Worst Feeling:
When you get stick on the ball but not enough to make the save.
cavgoalie7
11-16-2006, 10:19 PM
I clamped, then raked, then stupidy popped the ball up in the air like a 1/2 foot, and then the attackmen picked it off right off in the air (almsot ground level) and jumped and scored benind the back rigth on the crease. It was disallowed(interference), but he didn't touch me at all, the goal should of been good.

1) when a ball hits me and goes in the goal (in some freakish way)
i.e. once i had a ball that hit off my cleat, bounced straight up to the crossbar and behind me
2) when the ref is blind
i.e. when somehow a ball that clearly pinged off the goal gets counted as a goal

The shots that I hate are the ones that you can see them, you can get to them, but you just can't and you see it go past you. It doesn't happen to me a lot, but when it does, AAAAARRRRRRGGGHH!!!!! Also, te shots that sawyerlaxgirl mentioned can get really annoying, too.
jrmelax16
11-17-2006, 08:02 PM
I absolutely HATE having the ball hit me(anywhere really) and then bounce off of me and into the net. The pain of getting hit is always worth it if you make the save, but it hurts a ton more if the ball goes in off of you.
EHSLAX12

i still say having a shot go 5 hole is the most embarassing.....
the next 'one'
11-18-2006, 01:15 AM
i played goalie for a little bit last year, and for me the worst were outside cranks. as a middie they are my favorite shots to take, but as a goalie they are easy, but when you miss it you feel retarded. the inside ones and fakes aren't embarassing because you as a goalie arent actually expected to save a tiny ball in 36 square feet with nothing but your body and a stick when the guy is literally 3 feet from you. thats the defense's fault when people can get in that close to shoot.

11-18-2006, 01:44 PM
Anything that hits me, or my stick...I hate.
Anything that injures me, then goes in I hate. ( I don't care if it nails me in the shin, then I pick it up and keep on truckin')
But, worst of all, anything that just rolls/trickles in unnoticed...I hate.

our goalie raked the ball into the crease and right back through his legs and in twice in once game, he got dropped and replaced by a fresher pretty sharpish after that.
it hurt so bad

i hate when it hits you and goes in, it just sucks, because you were so close but it still went in.
trick shots also suck, but the shooter looks retarted if they get stopped on it
LAXBEAST#26
11-28-2006, 08:25 PM
ya some of the worst shots i haven't experienced...never been scored on or even shot on by a goalie, only once has a trick shot gone by me, and i don't know if i can remember a shot that deflected off me and then in the goal in a GAME, but crank shots are just always those shots you see know you should save but just for some reason you think about it too long and whew it's by you
i can stand five hole and being faked out but stick side high shots make you look retarded!
THE WALL #00

hahaha it also sucks if you scoop it itno your own goal lol

but my least favorite was during my game today it hit the side of my stick and went in or off your body that stinks

I hate low shots that I miss because I cant see out of my helmet. Or shots that glance off my shoulder or any other part of my body and in. Most of all I hate shots that hit my stick and go in, we lost a scrimage today because a shot hit the side wall of my stick, my stick twisted in my hands and went in. I was so mad because I played good all game and lost like that in sudden death.

i was playing indoor, and a kid shot a roller, and it rolled off my stick like it was a ramp(obviously went in). i hate when that happens. But i redeemed my self when i did a short touch pass at the side of the gaol, my teammate lost it and the other team got it. the net was empty, but i ran back toward the goal, dove, and stuffed him. :bartmoon:

top 3 i hate in no specific order
d-pole tips it past you

and finally D-pole/middie screens you on a shot from up top and it sneaks past you into the goal

i hate, when you get a shot stick side high, and it hits your stick so hard, that it still goes in.
and those shots that bounce so slow you'd think you could run a circle around it, yet you still dont save it.
those suck.

I hate being scored on with cranks. They are just soooooo sooo easy to stop and i screw up and let it in, then my confidence drops to my ankles and i bomb the rest of the game.
I like 1on1s tho, cuz i usually stuff them and my team thinks im a hero, and if i dont its the D's fault.
I love outside cranks but hate getting scored on by them cuz its just too easy. One time in a game it was tied 2-2 in the last quarter and the othr goalie brought his stick back to throw it and it rolled out the back and scored. We won 3-2. He musta gotten so much crap from his team. I kinda feel bad...... but not really cuz we won =P

I love 5 hole. Its a pain in the a** but I just love it.
Because from what most (girl) players think.
5 hole is really hard, and most goalies suck at it.
Which is funny, to watch 3 girls in a row.
Shoot 5 hole.
And just laugh at them as they watch my clear (after the save)
soar over their heads. =]

I went to a camp at Syracuse and they had an entire drill where all they did was take one on one shots from like 3 feet outside the crease a lot were trick shots it was so frustrating.
