in our area, the boys mesh lacrosse shorts are a big hit with the ladies. i personally practice wearing boy shorts, jsut cuz they're really comfy and loose, kinda free flowing! the one thing i hate is when girls come to practice with their cheer shorts rolled up really high, and these little sports bra's to impress our boys lacrosse taem. they're the girls that started playing to get the opportunity to run down the field in short skirts. (usually new plyrs that don't see much playing time, but we didn't have cuts at our school last year) at the camps that i've taught at, i've met some serious private school players, and they always come decked out in long shorts, and a t-shirt. oh, at our school, the guys always wear a lacrosse t-shirt with khakis from AE or AF, and yes, most of them have shaggy hair!! what's your favorite article of clothing to wear at practice? mine's this pair of orange hawiaain shorts that match my stick perfectly!

i am so glad you brought this up. :) i think girls lax is so different from other sports, in the way of how we dress!
in what other sport is wearing those gigantic ribbons with lacrosse sticks on them considered "cool"? or braided ponytails! hah.
of course, the boys shorts are the greatest! i also like the white hole mesh shorts a lot. if you noticed - all the club/travel teams have started wearing reversibles & mesh shorts .. not the little short skirts anymore, which i think is great.
i have noticed that the inexperienced players roll up their little booty shorts (like you said, laxbabe) & the ones that can really play wear the nice long mesh ones.
i love shaggy hair .. i think it's great that almost ALL lacrosse boys have it. <33

im a culprit of the soffie short ordeal, but i don't roll them up my butt like most of the little beginner girls do.....The common "fashion" of the girls on my team are mesh shorts, a sports bra and our practice mesh jersey......... thats it. Thats how i usually play anyhow. And the, uh, lack of clothing is sheerly for comfort, not to impress anyone (maybe b/c the boys lax team is on the OTHER side of the complex....). I dunno bout you, but less is better when its 80+ degrees out.
boys mesh shorts r the best for sleeping as well, if i do say so myself

we wear the sports bra & reversible for tournaments. :D that is our uniform .. lol. along with some nice long navy blue mesh shorts with our team name on them.

yea i wish my hair was long enough for the braided pony tail look! what looks really cool is when the girls tie their hair up, and then seperate it into 3 braids! i saw a college chick with it that way! i... just have it like jen adams, 2 little buns, beucase my stupid hair lady cut my hair way to short. ohh can't forget that piece of prewrap in the hair! that thing works wonders! yea those white hole mesh shorts are sweet! nice and loose! yea, i usually play with boy mesh shorts, a sports bra, and a reversible mesh. oh! a good tip for you girls. you know how sometimes, you'll get those reversibles that have the huge arm holes? cuz they're like ment for boys?! well.. i've figured out the secret to make you still look like a hottie while wearing one! on the back... take the 2 pieces of material that rests on your shoulders, and pull it back towards your neck together and then take one of those shoulder strap things (that you put on your t-shirts to keep them up), and put it around the 2 straps! that way its not falling off your shoulders, and it lets you bear those awsomely tanned shoulders! check it out! yes, boy shorts are great to sleep in!

.. i just stole a top gun lax camp reversible from langley forks. there were a bunch of guys playing while i was at practice for the youth festival & it was just lying on the ground. i had my mom take it for me. :D
i also like the pre-wrap, but lately a lot of girls (including myslef) have been using the very skinny headbands - they won't break easily like pre-wrap.

sweet!!!! yea, umm like 2 years ago at that youth festival... umm like fun day. something like that. that was held at westfield high school. l3lacrosse was one of the sponsers, and we got a bunch of those "bra strap" headbands. those things are great.

I like the prewrap look, but my always comes off my head (it's around my pony tail after 5 mins of playing). am I doing something wrong? I just don't know :-(

most girls use to much of it. i use enough so after its tied together, its around my neck like a choker. just make sure its tight!

I actually perfer the skirts in women's lacrosse. I like the look and uniqueness of the skirts.

I love the kilts! they make us look different. I also think that when you wear spandex short thingies underneath, it gives you a better range of motion.

the underarmor ones are SWEET. soo light, and so soft. its like you're running with nothing on! cept for those annoying spandex underwear things. i will never grow to love those things. but our coach won't let us wear the spandex shorts.

OK well I'm a guy and I definitely prefer the short skirts. They're hot. We don't want you to wear our type of shorts. The short skirts are the reason we come to watch the games if we come at all. Sorry but Girls Lax just doesn't have the appeal that Guy's lax does I mean no hitting or broken bones or dead people. Short skirts are definitely keeping guys at games.

Wow, talk about superficial.
But kilts do allow for easier movement on pitch, and they're great if you played Mixed lax like I do. It's one way to put the opponent off his game, I'm in the centre, doing the draw, bending over,flashing lycra covered arse. Then, their concentration goes right out the window. sweet. That's why we prefer girls to play middie in our mixed lax matches! hee hee.
Ok, so I s'pose my argument goes for kilts but boys shorts are so great to sleep in and super comfy!

having played in a skirt in a guys vs. girls game (we kicked them) i am thankful every time i wear my lax shorts to practice. i am a "sissy" goalie and wear goalie pants that work just like compression shorts and those work like a dream. i cant even wear a normal shirt when playing sports anymore without feeling like im overheating, underarmour is the way to go. and lastly.... short hair rules... 1/4 of an inch ladies...

btw... what is a prewrap? it sounds like something they wrap around ur leg before they tape it up... that would be quite hilarious to see 20 girls all with tape in their hair...

Ya know what Short skirts attracting guys may be superficial, but I don't care they are hot. Short hair is not the way to go either. A girl can be cute with short hair but not hot. Also i think it would be great if girls could ever deal without having to wear bras at all. I would definitely be at every girls lax game. Don't try to be more masculine it just pisses guys off

Um...thanks for the advice? Pffft -- not. Anyway, Pre Wrap is what you put on before you tape up an injury but it also can be used as a hair tie that holds fly-aways back. You just rip off a piece and then tie the ends and put in in your hair. Its great. Except for when it rips. That ticks me off.

um...whats up with all the guys in the womens forum...dont flatter urself..u dont really think we go to guys games to watch the game do u? lol j/k thats how u sound. i ahte when guys use hormones as an excuse..we have them too ya know! aaaanyways...i personally hate when girls dress like its cheerleading practice in there little little shorts makeup hair done and a tiny little top. i dress like a guy to practice..i can't play well if im not comfortable and the mesh shorts are the most comfortable thing in the world i sleep in them too.

well said lancer. i go to guys games to see my friends, watch them kill each other with sticks, and just whack the hell outta each other and i mean... their hottness might have something to do with it too. yea, i hate it when girls wear like regular bra's to practice with spagetti strap shirts and then cheerleading shorts rolled up their asses. yea we have girls like that. i can understsand wearing a sports bra with a tight underarmour shirt and mesh shorts. kinda sexy, cuz the shirts tight fitting, but still beneficial to the girl, and comfortable too. there are ways for girls to still be "hot" at practice, yet not be a "skank" but in the end, it still comes down to who has the skill to back up the way they dress.

I still prefer girls in short skirts and for the record guys have way more hormones than girls. Oh well dress how you will I suppose it won't matter in the end but short skirts are keeping guys in the fans that is unargueable. I have my first fall season lax game and I'm playing long pole middie for first time so we'll see how that goes. Best of luck to all those who got games tomorrow

haha, yes i do, but you have to admit its wicked hot... my fav look in lax is after a game rocking my rainbows (flip flops), w/ some mesh shorts (preferably my MB ones, or my hawaiian ones) and either a loose fit under armour shirt, a t shirt (pref. one from red dog surf shop...) or no shirt at all...

Oh, how I love my flip flops. Its llike 30 degrees here during the day and I'm still wearing flip flops..... It'll be snowing outside and I'll still be wearing them. Must be a beach thing.

i know this is an old thread, o well hehe. anyway, on our JV team, everyday that we had a game, someone was responsible to bring "ribbons" for our team to in their hair for the game. they werent real ribbons, just strips of cloth from a fabric store with goofy designs on them. the ones i brought had timon and pumba from lion king on them!! plus, i wear a baby blue head band from new balance for "intimidation" lol. for a little while at the end of the season, i actually put on some eye black stuff under my eyes....
P.S.- I LOVE wearing guys lax shorts! Theyre are soo comfy! I dont understand how girls can run around wearing tiny shorts up their butts!

oh i love the new warrior uniforms! the racerback jerseys & cute little kilts. a few teams have been playing with them (cclax, fslax, etc) at the summer tournaments and they look awesome! they make the rest of us wearing just reversibles & long mesh shorts look bad. i don't like the dresses though, thats just weird.

coolest thing i've seen lately-- a guy i know plays lax and he put dreads in his hair, so they are flyin all over the place when he runs, its a neato effect.
Our school was to cheap to afford shorts so we wore our gym shorts or whatever we could find :(, our jerseys were one peice mesh thingys that had our school and number cheaply melted on them....we're getting new stuff next year though!

the varsity jersys were nice. as where the shorts......yea the jv stuff was bad....and you will get new jersys, and some custom gloves and helmits i think. so yea i wish i was still there to get the stuff.....darn school and making it a sport when i leave.....
