hey any one else notice that the shamroxs roster is like mainily from ontairo
like 30+ players
whay dont they make a taem in ontario?

yeah i saw tha too ....sounds pretty sweet ... but they already have toronto rock so im pretty sure there trying to make nll bigger by spreading teams out not clumping them together ...but that would be pretty sweet

they had 2 open tryouts here in chicago, and the players that made it through those 2 had to travel up to canada for another tryout up there. chances are, the canadians at the tryout were chosen over the group that was brought up tp try out.

I don't think it is that unusual. Ontario is a known hot bead of box lacrosse talent. And Canada as a country is known for its box lacrosse. It happens in field, as well as other sports. Most high level field players are from the east coast.

The location of the team is proably because of fan support and getting other locations to "buy-in" to lacrosse. Toronto might not have the dollars and fans to support two team or if they did it may take away from the rock and we sould not jepordize that. Plus they probably want to expand to new locations and they need the talented Ont player to put on a good show.

Isn't that convieniant? Now they only have to pay for one charter flight to Chicago. Who's the genius who figured that one out?

Its actually pretty common, teams will select a region from which to build, making it much easier to get the team to practice together, and also get to the games together. The Rox in that case should be a pretty in-synch crew by mid season, if not sooner.

Uh, folks, if you check NLL rosters, you might find that close to half (or more) of the players on most East division teams are from Ontario. NY is an exception.

Some West Division team (see Arizona) are hugely Ontario as well.

Really no surprise, nowhere in the world is close to Ontario for participation and level of competition in box lacrosse.

we did have Ottawa remember, and that didnt work out.
And the Rock were once located in Hamilton.
Ontario expansion can wait...
