Old thread?

Is it better to bring up an old thread or start a new thread on it. Bringing up extremely old posts I know is shunned but so is starting a new thread with the same topic. So what should someone do in a situation like this?

Bring up an old thread is always better.

When I modded another forum, bringing back a dead thread wasn't looked down upon if you brought it back to add something worth saying to it. If it was brought back to say "tighten those sidewalls" or "Dude, you're a N00B" then I wouldn't recemmend doing it.

I'd think that they'd (as said) rather have an old thread brought up for a valid reason, than have a new one with the same general subject.
