Anything with a high ankle is good. Also, when you pick the shoe up, try bending the heel to the toe. If it's really flexible, you probably don't want it for lacrosse. You want a firm shoe.

a high ankle is not always good get a nice stiff basketball shoe and your set

Any decent court or basketball shoe will do. Make sure it is comfortable, good flexibility to run properly (on the balls of your feet) and make sure it is white.

White? Yes.

I know a certain player from Clarington :chuckle: who wore bright green shoes and I swear he was called on marginal crease calls because the bright green was so easy for the ref to see in relation to the crease markings. Had some goals called on the crease violations too if I remember correctly. :agree:

Oh yeah, and don't use coloured mesh in box either. Makes it easier to spot the ball in your stick.

Never heard that, but I guess it makes sense. Interesting point.

If you want good grip, try looking for some volley ball soles.

Im wearing cleats for box now, we have grass like stuff. They have better grip than basketball shoes.

what i do ....
at the store when trying on new treads, I ask the sales guy if I can go for a run in his store room. Then i can try cutting and stops and starts on smooth cement, and properly check the grip.
I have never had a guy say NO the Question either!.
Then I KNOW I'll be comfortable in them and have the 'feel' I like.

ya i use volleyball shoes, and you dont need high tops like everybody says any shoe will do pretty much just make sure its a gumrubber sole so you dont go sliding around everywhere. then after that just something thats comfortable and fits

look at indoor soccer shoes. they have REALLY good traction, and on the slippery cement floor of box, traction is good.

another thing about indoor soccer shoes...the edges of the entire sole are rounded, which means you can push off the foot in any direction. This greatly aids mobility and lateral/backward movement.

They work on concrete, artificial turf, plastic, and wood with equal ease...we are rcommending them for use on our new Mateflex(tm) playing surface here locally.

Yes, we spell it "colour". In English speaking Canada we also spell "canidains" as "Canadians" and in French speaking Canada it's "Canadien".

Those all terrain running shoes work really well, thats what i used for box . They offer a little more grip and are as light as running shoes.

And1 Basketball Shoes, my son wears Addidas Torsion Basketball shoes. Just make sure you give your ankles a little help if you're going to play hard.
