Hello all,
I just got a gaolie stick to play around with in my backyard with my goal and pitchback, and when my dad and some guys in my neighborhood shot on me I was actually blocking 90% of the shots, so I am thinking of trying goalie i nthe drop-in clinics in my legue right now to see if I am good in scrimmage and drill situations, but I do not have the proper pads(chest pads and neck protector you know). So anyway I was wondering if it is legal just to play goalie with shoulderpads? and also regular thumb size gloves.
Thanks a bunch!

The regular gloves are fine.
I'm not sure if its legal...But so you don't get killed. I'd get a chest protector, and throat guard.

It's mandatory to use a throat guard, I'm pretty sure it is.

Your allowed to wear shoulder pads but it would be pretty stupid to especially being a brand new goalie with little expierence. Even high expeirenced it would be stupid. Throat guards have never been checked but once again stupid if you didnt use one.

Yeah wearing normal shoulder pads as a goalie should be considered self mutilation but i play with normal gloves and no nck guard and don't wear elbow  pads the suck sack

ive used regular gloves in goal, not too much of a difference, as long as you dont get cranked in the thumb....using sps = a lot of pain....and if by neck protector you mean helmet chin guard, then yes, you need it.

Getting shot on in the backyard is a whole lot easier than a game. it's not as easy as everyone thinks it is.
