The rap check is really something we need to encourage more of.
The best and most effective wrap check I've seen (and been raped with more than once in the heat of battle) would be Cam Mac from Surrey Park. Only a little guy, but he knows how to throw them.

If you ever want to see the best one ever...get the 1994 World games highlight video of USA vs AUS in the rain, when Mango is running down the sideline and Tony Million produces the most amazing WRAP check in the history of the game!!!!
Well worth a look!

I think I remember that check. If it is the one I'm thinking of, Mango's stick does about 6 rotations and goes about 5 meters in the air (excuse the exaggeration). The check was an all or nothing check because Million actually turns his back on Mango to do the check.

It was Tony - I doubt it would be on a link..unless Eddie Toomey uploaded it to the net. 1994 boys long time ago fellas before the cascade!

Was '94 still the era of the famed Bacharach helmet or had you moved on to the snazzy new buckets from Sports Helmet?
I think in '94 i was still sporting a little cooper helmet.

94 - The Aussie Team wore the Sport Helmet
Nothing wrong with a Cooper Helmet unless some hit you in the back of the head or on the ears! It did work for Newy!
Very few young kids would not what the Cooper was these days!

I remember the footage of that one whistleblower, it was a ripper.
Pumba, were you even alive when that game was played? Hows the training coming along?

Still does. Played against him this year up in Vancouver.

Did Eddie Toomey film any of the England games in 1994?.
I'd love to get the England v USA game when England were 1-0 up only for the england goalie to score an own goal from 20yds to make it 1-1.
As for wrap checks

i was there in manchester when tony { dueschbag millon } threw that check. we had just called a time out so mango slowed down and millon saw it as a perfect time to take a cheap shot. as for the best wrap check, anyone who saw subiacos robin cornish throw one when he just got back from carolina would agree he was pretty aggressive.

1991 Final at the Carrier Dome. Shoots it straight at Betchers stick! Fogo is right though, he did have a hell of a wrap check.
Robin was actually on the wrong end of one of the best wraps I ever saw...Gary Gait with what u might describe as a "Reverse" wrap check in 1994. Sent Robs stick spinnning.
