alright so everything i ever hear about soft mesh is bad, people say it is for beginners, really whippy, and useless. I dont see why though, i personally prefer it to hard mesh, the way i string it i can get much better hld than hard mesh with just as smooth a release..in fact the stick i have now has dura mesh and it has less hold/more whip
So why does soft mesh have such a bad rep?

its all preference cuz look at some top d1 and mll players
they have soft mesh because softmesh can provide low pocket when ur cradlin and hig hpocket when ur shooting
but the bad thing is the whip
when it rains..
u dont want to think about it

ive played with soft mesh in the rain, and if strung right it is not anywhere near as bad as people make it out to be, but it definitely is not good. which is why over soft mesh i prefer american mesh, same idea, just thicker and better for wet conditions.

soft mesh isnt terrible for field players...i know people that use it...middies especially. it provides a moving pocket which holds the ball very well...and the whip isnt terrible when its strung correctly. but if you use it in the rain you can consider yourself screwed so you better have a backup plan.

It is actually really broken in hard mesh. It won't hgave as much whip.

I think it gets such a bad rep b/c most factory strung sticks come with it. The factory soft mesh is so much worse than, say jimalax's. I think people just assume that b/c the factory mesh is so bad, all soft mesh is bad. I personally think that if it is strung the right way, it is not as bad as everyone thinks. Its still not as good as hard mesh though.

why does it get a bad rep because its not as impervious to the weather as much as hard mesh is, once softmesh gets wet even if it's strung the right way its going to bag out extremely, but with hard mesh sure it'll get a little deeper but definitely not as bad as softmesh
