I have strung so many mesh pockets, but they get boring so I finally strung another custom. So here is a Torpedo pocket that I strung.

I widened the channel out like a RP.

never strung a traditonal pocket

looks picture perfect, just dont like the colors too much. Is that the torque you got from kryptic?

Yeah, I think the colors are ugly. But I didn't want to stretch out some new leathers and I didn't have any white xlace left.

Looks really good. I like the cross lace color alot... not a huge fan of the poop brown leathers though. And i was just wondering is there any difference between using a top string for the leathers or just putting them into the holes?
If my stick every breaks I can take off the topstring and sidewalls and put the pocket in another stick(same type of head)

Your pocket looks quite good gigo567. I am on the other end of the spectrum though. I have strung so many custom pockets that I am starting to get "strung out" and am starting to think about stringing some mesh pockets again.

looks pretty sweet i always wondered why some people used the topstring instead of just putting the leathers through the top and now i finally know why, man everytime i see a torque i can't wait till christmas it's like the perfect stringers head

but good job and i lot the brown leathers the x-lace not so much

and im done with complex customs for the moment i think ill just stick to the simple but efficient pita

I actually just ordered some brown leathers. I'm not sure when i'm gonna actually use them...but i ordered them! lol nice pocket gigo

Its a decent pocket, it looks like it would throw terribly due to the configuration of the nylon shooters. Why not directly attach the leathers to the head? I also doubt that your pocket will stay so low.

Mesh is not out. Most player use mesh, at least in ny. I played club and we wnet to like 4 tornoment so out of like 20 schools that we played i have not seen 1 custom the entire fall. Although its more fum to string and look and customs than mesh. nice job.
Thats not even close to what I mean. I strung a ton of mesh pockets but never customs and I am finally stringing customs again.

no matter what after a month of high level play i can garuntee that the pocket will form higher.

It may shift higher to a mid but will not become a high pocket.

I'm pretty sure a torpedo is a 2 leather pocket. But is was done withe excellent precision, great job.

i can GUARANTEE that it wont....it depends on how its strung...where the string is tight, how he breaks it in and many other things...theres people that play with low mesh pockets that stay low...its his preference
