Ok well if you can't tell from the title I just bought myself a brand new Brine Clutch from Dick's Sporting Goods. Orange had texted myself in the morning and asked if I wanted to go and see some of the new 2007 gear that was at the store. Obviously I said yes, but we got there and for probably an hour we just stood there playing with some of the stuff. They had the Mojo attack/defense complete stick for 50$ and 60$. Pretty cheap, should have bought that, oh well. But I told myself while we were going if they had the Clutch that I would buy it, and after throwing it on the ground a few times because I did not was to shell out 95$ for it the purchase was done. I got it strung (no unstrung) with Brine Ultra Mesh, the factory pocket was actually kind of good. We got to the register and it rung up to 101$ can you say boo tax ? We got to our friend's house and while we were playing some N64 Orange was stringing it.
Here is my outlook on the head itself. It is the stiffest head I have ever owned. Stiffer than my X2, Proton, Evo Pro, E3, Razer, any stiff head you could think of. The head is very easy to string due to all of the holes it has. It has a great looking pinch, and is just a great looking head all together in my opinion. Now the thing is, no head in the world is worth 101$ I threw with Orange's string job yesterday and it was horrible (sorry big guy). So now I am throwing some Cali-Conn in it because it throws so well for me. Overall I am regretting buying this, I should have just thrown my money into something usefull....like my bank account.
Here are the pictures of his string job (it is the Brine ultra mesh) :

looks pretty sweet, but its too pricy for me, you coulda had two mojos
Ah man, you could have bought one from rock-it pocket with a RP strung on it for basically that price. It's weird that you say it's so stiff though, somebody else got one and said it wasn't that stiff... or pinched. Would you mind posting a picture of it with a ball in it so we can have some idea how pinched it is? And the pocket doesn't look bad at all.

The first pictures that are up, the string job threw like butt. There used to be a U shooter in it, but I took it out, it made the channel way too tight. He also had the nylon rolled, but I weaved it, not much difference. Also the top string was factory, so don't comment on that.
As I said in the thread my first impressions is that the head is unbelievably stiff. Stiff, and has a great pinch. The pinch has a slight flare, like the Helix almost. The bottom rails flare out ever so slightly. Easy to string, and looks great. I also like the scoop a lot. It is kind of rounded, but at the same time kind of flat, but not as severely as the Blade. Think of it kind of like an E3.
When I take pictures when I am done I will throw a ball in it.

Wow, that is a ridiculously over-priced head. You might as well have gotten it with an RP.
Do you think that would make a good attack head? I mean, is it light enough?

Wow stiffer than a X2? Well this is now my new D head. Atleast we can now confirm how stiff it is.

I would never buy a head with a RP. Mesh > Customs. I wish I could string a nice trad because I would throw that in here, oh well. It is definitely light enough. It feels like an E3 but a tad bit lighter. I don't know, hopefully when I am able to use it in a league I can get a real good feel for it.

It is stiffer than my X2 by a long shot. Then again my X2 was used when I got it, and I have used it in every summer/fall game except for like 3 so it has gotten a bit softer. But it still really stiff.

Hah, the channel is why I said it looked nice. I like tight channels in my pockets. And thanks.

Brine says it's 4.7 ounces, which I think is the same as P2s.

I would never go by Brine's measurements, they are never right. The Clutch is definitely not as light as a Proton Power. It almost feels more like the Evo Pro than the E3. The E3 actually feels a lot heavier.

It was listed as 4.7 and 4.6 in their magazine, so I'm not surprised.

Yeah, hopefully the price justifies itself by it being a great head in the long run. Pictures are now up from my string job.
Ur job looks good but Oranges doesnt look bad either. And u can't completely blame him, Brine Ultra Mesh sucks.

I went to my local lax store and compared it to an evo pro, put the clutch on top of the evo, and they line up perfectly. The only difference is the flare on the evo, so the pinch is almost identical.

I am sorry to say but this statement is false. The Evo Pro actually has a wider face when it is new. Once the Evo Pro warps the face then will look more like the Clutch.

i have a similar story with the factory mesh, on my x3, the factory mesh was horrible, and then i put it in my answer and its my game stick right now haha, but that looks sick with the factory.

Phish, or Orange, because of the reverse flair, would it be tough to put a low pocket in it? I've been seriously considering buying this head and returning my Helix...but if I can't put a decent low pocket in there, I won't get it.

The stringing was fine it just threw really bad cause of A. the mesh B. the shooters C. the factory strung top string. I didn't really take my time with it either because I kinda just started doing it out of no where while he was playing a game.

I know this will make this a preference thread kind of but i need a new head.. This or torque? Both heads look like they will make a great home for micro-mesh which is always fantastic. The two heads seem similar but are they really?
Orange and Phish, did you guys graduate?

No, they're really not even remotely similiar. Why don't you just make your own thread? No need to jack somebody else's.

Don't feel bad I bought a duece for like $90 of my hard earned money, and it was only as a mess around stick because I play goalie. I don't know what I was thinking. :'(

So I was just outside shooting on my cage a little bit, and I must say that I am loving this head so far. The thing is easy to dodge with as well since it is pinched.

As far as this goes, both mine and Orange's pockets are low, mine is a mid low, and his was low. It is pretty easy to do because of access to so many stringing holes. It also helps with the reverse flare due to the fact that the ball will not get stuck as easily in the bottom of the pocket. I would say it is a damn good low pocket head.
