Clean the head (get the mud/dirt off). Then restring it, dont bother to do any bleach/whatever/artificial/chemical processes, it'll be a waste of time and will mess up the mesh anyway.

I use SOS pads when cleaning a head. Don't use the ones with oxy action cause it leaves a very light, almost white, blue tint on the head. Soap and water does the rest, can't say I've tried bleach. Also to get rid of minor scoop scratches...you sandpaper (oh yeah!). Hope it helps

wash it with soap and water, then take rubbing alcohol (not the type you drink) put in on a rag and rub over you head. it will help. all the other ideas are good aswell but most of them contain this alcohol which helps clean.

For a second I thought you were really talking about your face  When you said you almost turned blue, I thought you were just a really really really pale kid.

I use an abrasive like comet cleanser, and a rough sponge. It makes it look brand new

I wipe some of that strong-smelling mildew cleaner on it and then use a Mr. Clean magic eraser. Gets it looking good as new and then new mesh will make it look even better.

any kind of wipe that looks like a tissue (fantastik, mr.clean, pledge, baby wipes). and if you have mesh and if you're really anal you can unstring and throw it in the washing machine.

yea but i would just recommend soaking the head in a tub of hot soap and water, then just scrub it with the rough side of the sponge i have no idea what its called but all you need is a little elbow grease and it works for me
and DO NOT bleach the head it will weaken it tremendously and turn it yellow trust me ive seen it happen before

soft scrub works like a charm
you just have to use a sponge with like hard wires to scrub the dirt out of it
or yeah an sos pad works fine too

some people also put tape on their heads for supersticious(sp?) purposes and goo gone helps with dirt on the head and left over sticky stuff when yu peel off the ball stop
i just use hot soapy water then goo gone on the really pesky dirt spots and the residue from the ball stop
