heres my clutch, with my own version of the cali connection. ive used this configuration in a few heads and it works great in all of them. medium/fair amount of whip, great hold, very clean release. plus a very quick and accurate shot.

thoughts on the clutch itself -

i threw around with one of these a week or two prior to purchasing it, so i knew what i was getting. its stiff, like mentioned in other threads, but seems very durable. i dont see this thing breaking too easily. the sting holes made is easy to tweak, which i found very handy when i strung this. the sidewalls have a very slight reverse flare to it, something that is really only noticeable on close examination in person. despite it being stiff, it is pretty light, but not as light as brine says it is. i used a proton power before i swtiched to this, and i noticed a change in weight. ironic enough, brine states the two heads have the same weight. overall this seems like a money head, in my opinion the best of the 2007 batch. the scoop is very nice, being curved on the sides and flat in the middle. the pinch is very good too. i have yet to play in a game with it, but as of now after being on the wall and shooting, its a great head overall.

It is a Shooter setup, look in my webshots to see more of them.

theres a few variations of it, especially when it comes to the sidewalls. the clutch's sidewall holes made it pretty easy

i have one of matt wards sticks with the UVA cali connection, and as part of that you drill an additional sidewall hole. doing that also voids the warranty, but thats your deal.

mmm another clutch looks pretty sweet, and the multiple holes is a plus, i thin it might actually be like navy hard mesh? but who knows

Is it worth the money with the cali connection?

the connection is just a way i put the shooters and stuff. i think the head is worth it, if thats what your asking.

chances are it was a clear rubber like thing that would be glued on, and woul fall off eventually. puttin it on there would also raise production costs a bit.

yeah i remember seein that too, but none of the clutches posted on the forums have it so I guess they decided not to make it like that.

How does the offset feel compared to the p2?

How does the offset feel compared to the p2?

its about the same, maybe even a little less than the p2. i didnt really find the p2 to have too much of an offset, just because of the curves of it. the offset on this is still great. having a huge offset on this head would ruin this head. the way the sidewalls have a slight flare, along with the overall design of the head compensates for not having a huge, over-the-top offset

i used this for the first time in a game yesterday and it was heavenly. great hold, great release. the stiffness of the head was great for throwin checks. it took a beating all night, and came out without a scratch

i took a bit of the bag out as the mesh started to break in and i also trimmed the excess mesh off the throat. this stick is sexy.

it looks rly good... i was thinking about getting a clutch and if the cali connection pocket is as good as people say i might try it out. is it only the way you put the shooters that makes it the "cali connection" or do you have to do other things with the sidewalls... b/c u said shooters and stuff. if you do have to do other things, what r they??

Uh, if your intrested in learning about Cali Connections, Pocket 34s and Love pockets, check out the thread Gigo made and others helped with to explain the differences.
But the cali connection can have what ever kind of topstring and sidewall your heart desires, it just needs to have 2 weaved U's and two rolled nylons.
