I am not a stringer and am perfectly content with my mesh pocket in my proton however, i was wondering if it were possible to pinch a stick without unstringing it. Maybe the boiling water technique? Please help!

You can do it but it will screw up your pocket.

It's really not hard to string mesh... just borrow your friend's stick, look at it and string section by section, always refering back to the friends stick if you get screwed up.

Stringing isn't that hard, so you can take it out, or you can pinch it with mesh and reform the pocket after the pinch is done with a pocket screw, or a ball and a butter knife.

But if he's already got a stretched out pocket (where it's close to illeagal with the sidewalls pulled tight), it could make the pocket really deep. And if the mesh was already stretched out, there'd be nothing he could do with it.

Definately take the pocket out. Restringing it is not too difficult. Lax.com had a nice tutorial on how to string mesh. See if you could find it. Pinching a stick with mesh still in it would ruin you pocket.
