I'm sad to see fellow laxers go, espically one who had to fight for thier life. There are really so many tradgedies going on in the lax world. Duke springs to mind and the couple of other s that have happen to college players. I think that as a player myself i have such a connection to these kids

Rest In Peace.

A genuinely tragic end of someone who seemed to love being an athlete.

Another thread on the same subject...http://www.lacrosseforums.com/showthread.php?t=65485

i mean we say that a lax team is a family, and this proves it. every laxer feels a connection to another that they know...this is a sport that is in your heritage so its hard to experience something like what the hofstra team and the collelouri family had to go through.

thats a great point, this is a shocker. all goes to the collelouri family

Hope Hofstra can end up recovering strong in memory of him.

This is a very sad story that I intend to share with a club called Colleges Against Cancer that I am a part of. Hopefully we'll find a cure soon. Rest in Peace.

RIP Fathead, but at least his team was there for him and his family. Super-cool of the players.

You know, I look at athletes that deal with these problems and rethink how truly blessed I am for having my health and having the ability to play lacrosse. And kudos go out to this man for playing with a form of cancer. That is a true lacrosse player, that will never quit. no matter what. i am also glad to see that we have come together to realize this. Like EHSLax said, a lacrosse team is a family, and this definetely proves it. Whenever you take your life for granted, think about this thread, and relize that you have a gift...the gift of lacrosse. And no matter what your state, wether you have cancer, or whatever. you are helping to spread the spirit of lacrosse around the world. So let's pick up where Nick Collelouri left off, and play in his honor.

To paraphrase JFK, "Let the word go forth", this year I play for Nick, each and everytime I walk on the field!

This guy is a hero in my opinion. To be soo tough and fighting a disease while carring for all others around you is amazing. I dont know what i would do if I had cancer...being so scared would drive me crazy. I especially found it touching to here about him talking to that 8 year old girl. rest in peace.

His number was 27, not 83. Hofstra still has last years roster up and his number is on there.
