how is this shaft? I have heard some good things, such as weight and grip, but I've also heard some bad things, breaks easily. Is the risk greater then the reward?

They are pretty weak and expensive. In fact, if you want a light shaft, just get a DB803. Save yourself some money.

I never owned one but i played with a defender that had one and it was extremely light. I know many people that bought them brand new and broke them within a week of practice. Your best bet on a dpole would be a f22 if you can find one. I have one and its never let me down. Its durable, light, and has a great grip.

if you can afford it, get a krypto pro.
lightest shart on the market. and they bend a little so they are less prone to snappage

lightest shaft on the market? I think not. That belongs to the DB803.

Ive owned one myself and broke it within a few weeks. i thought i just had a bad one or something maybe then when i got the 2nd one from the warranty that broke the 2nd game I used it in. It is a light shaft with a nice grip but don't use it as a D pole. From my experience with it i just think its a POS defense stick because of its durability.

The DB803 has the same rough octagonal shape grip of the WB. Catch is DB803 is stronger and lighter. And less expensive. Save yourself some money and misery and get a DB803. You get a little more bang for your buck. Well in this case bang for your buckS.

Okay, I own a KPro, and have used a DB803.
The KPro is lighter, because DeBeer adds more metal to the dB803 pole than warrior does to the KPro. Thus, while the 803 is a lighter metal, the Kpro is a lighter stick.
That is only for poles.
Having never used a Wonderboy, I can't tell you what is lighter, but I would expect it to be right up there with those 2, which ARE teh two lightest poles on the market. However, the Wonderboy is supposed to be pretty fragile, so I would have to reccomend against it from my knowledge.

Get it if you like using a shaft with paper for sidewalls.

I see what you mean, but I'm skeptical as to whether you have actual facts about the weight of both poles. Unless you have weighed and compared both, and found out that the Krypto Pro d-pole weighs less than the DB803 pole, I'm going to disagree with you. The DB803 is the lightest A/M length stick, and there are so many things that could have skewed your results. Your Krypto Pro could have been cut down, and the DB803 have been standard 60", thus, possibly making it lighter than the other.
I have no idea, but if you compared the two shafts with heads on them, then that could have made the results, different than they should be. For instance, if you are using an X2 on a Krypto Pro, and you compare it to a DB803 on say, a Bionic, you may get different results if you had just compared the shafts.

My Kpro was not cut down, and neither shaft had a head on it when I compared weights, because it was at a lacrosse store. Granted, I did not weigh both, but I have used enough lacrosse sticks in my 8 years playing to know what is lighter and what is heavier. I was given the reason by someone in my KPro review thread, but I had tested teh weights out before that.

Hm. Yeah, I wasn't sure what you meant when you said that you had tried the DB803 before. It seemed more like you had used it in a game situation, or with a head on it. You said it was at a store though, and there isn't much I can argue about there. Thats actually kind of interesting, because I was thinking about getting a DB803, simply because I thought it was the lightest shaft on the market (not that they are that much different in weight anyways). I just kind of assumed that the lightest A/M lengths, and the lightest D-poles were the same.
Still, judging by how weak the Wonderboy is, and how easily they dent, and snap, that is probably the lightest pole on the market. Not saying that you don't think that, only saying it to other people higher in the thread.

Yeah, I agree with you ThALAX, it probably is the lightest. And the difference between a KPro and 803 is hardly noticeable, so no worries. I'm probably gonna get an 803 after Christmas just as a backup.
And crazzyD, let us knowh ow the wonderboy works out. I'm interested in its durability as a pole.

What level are you playing at?
There is no way I could get through even half a HS Varsity season with clean snapping it.

my personal opion is that it is sick
i had a brine Ti22 (this stick was a peice) i broke it three times and then finally returned it
but the wonderboy is very nice though my eyes it is strong and i havent scratched it yet. plus it is mad light and the grip is pretty good. just my thought i beleive that it is thinner than most shafts but thats just me.
over all i like it alot.

It is not thinner than other shafts, unless you are talking the thickness of the walls.
And I'm curious how you consider yourself an "IRON ARMS!" if you use a Wonderboy.

i had a db803 ice d stick and it was the nicest shaft i have ever used. (except for the Warrior krypto wire shaft) i snapped a stx TI, Titan Classic and a Howitzer. and with a razr 2.0 on it, it was incredible. I have used many sticks in my 6 years (Titan classic, kpro, klyte, kwire, Platinum alloy) but the 803 ice was the lightest and strongest stick i have come across. I have been looking into a Wonderboy xcel lately does anyone know what it is made of and if it will last a couple seasons of east cost varsity lacrosse?

Well idk whatt everonee says becasue i have a wonderboy abd i used it for an entire year as a Dpole On JV...... and also i dont throww little kiddie checks ill be playin varstiy as a sophmore soo i think its a great shaft

It all depends on how you play. Some kids go for big checks while others use feet work. Once my Klyte has had its time, I will try out an Xcel (does it have thicker sidewalls than a WB?). It may snap, but I have to try it with the controversy going on.

does it have thicker sidewalls than a WB?.
Xcels have the same thickness, just better paint graphics.
whats sad about this is is the fact that the stx steel 7000 and wonderboy are made of the same materials, aluminum and titanium. Anybody ever snapped or broke a steel 7000 pole?
