for english i had to write an essay about fathers and how they affect their children. i had to relate this to the fathers in Farewell to Manzanar, Night, and Romeo and Juliet. i have the whole thing written, but i am stuck on a title. its supposed to be real creative and relate to the essay (of course). so some help please?

I suppose "Who's Your Daddy?" is out of the question, even though it does hold significance to all three texts. In Manzanar it could relate to Papa and how he changes over time up the point where he attempts to beat Mama with his cane. In Night, father represents God who in the book is described as being almost absent or in some cases a betrayal of former assumptions. In Romeo and Juliet the title is appropriate because the sires of both houses predetermine the fates of all their households; the destiny of the sons is determined by their parentage.

Actually, use that title.

Did I mention that I am an English instructor?

i like it, but since it clashes with R and J it might not work...and i never understood how Chlomo represents God in Night.

Night? as in the holocaust story?

in night i say there was a lack of a father. because when his father dies he seems relieved that he doesnt have to talk care of him anymore. also, he seems to doubt gods existence.

Why does it clash with Romeo and Juliet? I think "Who's Your Daddy" is a little bit corny, but if your teacher has a good sense of humor you might as well use it.
