some questions

Hey guys. Just a couple of questions.

I've never officially played before, but I've had catches and played with my friends for fun..and I've always used a short stick. I'm playing for my school now and I'll be playing defense. I don't know what to buy, really.

I need some good recommendations for sticks and shafts that are moderately cheap but good for use. I mean, I don't want a $300 Titanium shaft haha I just want something good at a good price. Also, any specific type of gloves? And with the pads, is Large a very big size? I'm not tremendous but my shirt size is an XL so I figured the pads would be the same.

Sorry if these are dumb questions haha I've never bought equipment before, always used my friends' stuff. Help is appreciated, thanks.

well im no D-man but i have good idea for you. for a head you want a good, stiff head so that you can check people with out it breaking and you obviously want a d pole, and since you new i d get a cheap one. for a good cheap head consider a mojo, its stiff, yet flexible, and has a decent pinch. for a pole a good one for you would be a warrior kryptolyte which is around 85 dollars. its a pretty good one my friend has it and he loves it. for shoulder pads you want something that has protection but obviously you need mobilty. keep that in mind..(i dont have any sujestions, just go check for yourself at a local store) and unless you want you dont have to have arm gaurds. other than that , search the forums and pm some mods that play d. you should be able to find tons of things by searching. good luck

The mojo would be a great head for you. For shaft I would also suggest a Gait DB803.

You may also want to look into the Warrior CU31 Platinum Alloy. A good all around good buy. IMO just as durable as a Krypto alloy, except cheaper (and slightly heavier)

I would recommend a warrior platinum alloy and a mojo as a stick. for shoulder pads I would recommend brine spartan cores which have great protectioin and only $20 on lacrosse.com

I dont think a mojo will hold up for defence in the long run, i'd suggest a bionic, great d head thats cheap! on an 803
