I believe so. Did you talk to your high school coach about whether he sent in the recommendations? I know my sons coach also coaches football, so getting him to do the recommendations for camps was a challenge

Yes, I had not my high school coach, but my club team coach send in a reccomendation for me. He told me that he also sent in reccomendations for some players on his team and all of them haven't heard anything back yet either. Who knows.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes - they do take kids from all over and I would say you have nothing to lose going to the tryout. Good luck

The invite includes the list of coaches who will be attending - it tends to be smaller schools and a smaller group of coaches, but it is also a smaller group of players. If there are a few schools on the list which you are interested in, it would be a great oppty to catch some attention.

This is an age old question! Which Camp, Which Tournament?

All tournaments/camps have pros and cons it comes down to what you are looking for and what level of exposure is right for you.

Secondly, you must market yourself! No matter what tournements and camps you select don't expect DI, DII or DIII coaches to just find you, the chances of that happening are slim. Again these are all good tournaments (STX Shootout, Hot Beds, Champ Camp,...) but do not expect the camp to sell you. Pick up the phone or write some emails to coaches and tell them where you will be over the summer. If you have talent and you approach a coach they will come see you. Half the battle is showing the coach that you are interested in their program, that is what they are looking for. Also a key is make the calls and send the emails yourself, remember coaches don't recruit parents they recruit players. Coach typically do not want to deal with parents, can you blame them? Are they coaching the parent for four years or the kid????

Keep in mind that any time a camp says top ###, multiply that number by 100 and thats how many players they actually invited. They should all say top ### that sign up.

Make the best of all your choices but make sure you market yourself and coaches will see you no matter what tournament or camp you select.
