Listening to all the controversy over "letting the quarterback out of the grasp on 4th down," it comes to mind that there are at least three absolutes in sports:

1. follow through on the throw to first...or it goes over the first baseman's head,

2. Stop in front of the net...if you skate behind the net, the puck will come right out in front where you should've been,

3. tackle through the whistle..especially when you have the quarterback wrapped up...

I say "thinking" the whistle was going to blow is no excuse for letting the guy go...

Any thoughts? I am especially interested in hearing about any other "absolutes" that anybody might care to share...

I say "thinking" the whistle was going to blow is no excuse for letting the guy go...

basically in ever sport, play your heart out until you hear a whistle.

4) Kepp your man boxed out until the ball hits the rim, then release and get the ball.

How about....Keep your head up crossing center ice, and pummel the guy who decks your keeper?

Wubbie! I am glad to see you back. I just like you because everytime I see your username I laugh and it brightens up my day. Even though I don't know you. I didn't mean to make this an absolute waste of a post. I just wanted to welcome back a member I haven't seen in a while.

the most important absolute rule about sports people seem to forget is:

9.dont shoot at the goalies nuts. he needs them too.

8. The Yankees were, are, and always will be the greatest sports franchise ever
That's probaly the worst thing to be said about sports..
I'll try to fix it up for you.
"The Yankees were, are, and always will be the highest paid sports franchise ever"

Both of you are wrong, let me correct both statements.
"The Red Sox were, are, and always will be the greatest sports franchise ever with a new kick *** lefty pitcher from japan"

10. if you're hurt, dont play. if you play, you're not hurt.

i'd actually change that to the old longest yard quote.
"Are you hurt or injured?"
"what's the difference coach?"
"If you're hurt you can still play if you're injured you can't."
