so i just got my laxzilla.com catalog...and i was reading somethin interesting. we've all seen the gait controversey with the neck design, and the other neck controversey with gait/db womens...well now there was somethin that came to my attention between warrior and brine....

i was looking somewhere, i cant find it now, but one of the heads that i think was the brine truth, stated that it had an opposite flare sidewall. when i looked at the back of it online, it is wider in the back than the front, meaning that it has a flare like the helix. not an exact version of it, but i think warrior may have gone with that design...i could be completely wrong, but im jsut sayin how its coincidental that 1 head comes out with a style, and then another head comes out with a similar style after it.

edit - just realiezed i posted this in the sdl by accident, this was supposed to be in equipment, my bad. MODS you can close this if you want.

Well I think it would be fine that both heads do that because Newbalance owns Warrior and Brine.

EDIT:Fixed the who owns who problem.

But now that Brine is owned by New Balance I doubt they can do anything about it.

I doubt they would have done anything about it in the first place since I don't think it's a patented design feature, such as the 'patented sidewall flare' that you can only find on warrior heads and severly warped A-brand heads

this is a true point...well, i guess wister took out the law manual and read that...and its true that nothing can be done now, but it really just shows warriors lack of creativity with their heads. helix is original, but you look at the mojo, its just a recreation of the finalizer....all the 2.0s, theyre all basically the same, all have graphics, all have same throat, and they didnt make many improvenemts to their heads. gait is coming up with new things, brine is coming up with new things, and so is stx...but warrior stuff is always generally the same.

True, they don't have a a lot of brand new designs. You gotta hand it to warrior though, they're definately the smartest company out there, bear with me warrior haters, hear my reasoning:

It costs both time and money to come up with a new head. Although new heads generate a lot of excitement and can be marketed at higher prices, it takes a substantially smaller amount of money to take an existing head (razer) and modify it (razer pro, razer 2.0) and market it as a new head, which is what they have been doing for the last 3 years. Razer/Evo were top selling heads, then the pro line was introduced, and kids preordered heads, and now listen to how excited everyone is for the 2.0 lines. While everyone else is spending money on research and designs, warrior is taking succesful heads, 'improving' them, and reselling them. Everyone already assumes they will be good products because they liked the old ones so much so there is already demand for them, while on the other hand, the only thing brand new heads have going for them is that they are new, and no one has ever tried it before.

that is a good point, they do market well...its just the fact that they dont try new things, which may keep their loyal customers but doesnt really reach out to the rest of the public.

Yes, you're right, their regularity kept me loyal, then I saw what they did with the '07 line and I hope that they never try another radical change again, after seeing how disgusting everything looks now.

Gangsta, good discussion.

im not a warrior hater, i use warrior shafts in goal and a nemesis...i love what they do with the stuff, i just wish they would make new stuff....specifically for goal, they tried tweakin the abyss. that was a terrible idea. ill remain loyal to them for my sticks in goal, i just wish they would make some good quality new equipment.

actually, stx used the reverse flare design on the g-force many years before the truth and the helix. brine could have copied stx.

STX goes even farther with the reverse flare on the excalibur.

Im actually rather certain that the Edge was the first "reversed flared" head, so actually STX copied brine, If that was true...

Edit, didnt see Excalibur. Damn.
