I didn't think that they made a clear chin piece on the CPX, but look @ the guy on the far right:

That is definetly clear. What's the deal?

brought it into photoshop to get a closer look

it is clear...i talked to cascade about this last year and they said that they stopped wanting to go into the clear chin-piece just because they broke constantly...

i would never get it in the first place...but i'm just saying...

one of the worst lacrosse ideas ever IMO. i had one on my Cpro, and i hated it. but that is clearly a lexan chin, its also a TI mask

I thought Lexan material was supposed to be really strong and shatter-proof. It's used in tactical visors for police o_O

well yeah, but when you start taking holes out...and then putting rivets in it like a mask...it makes weak points of the material...

NHL goalies go through about 6-10 throat guards a season...

I go through like 3 a year but I'm just in high school.

Yeah same here, so far this year on my hockey team our goalie broke two of them. With two month left, I wouldn't doubt him breaking at least one more.

I wondering what the deal is with why this hasn't been realesed to the public? Why doews this one middle school kid on Long Island have a CPX with a clear chin piece and no one else has heard about them developing one? It would be kind of funny if he just produced CPX's out of his backyard.

i only go through 1 or 2 a year, oakley makes good ones....

but on a side note, this lexan is also bent and machined so it makes the material weaker in key points. a flat board of lexan would probably shaping it like they did causes problems with the material.

His dad is the founder of LU. His dad owns all of them. He's got the sweet hookups.

I'm not sure if you have inside information on how Cascade makes their Lexan chin pieces or not (you very well may), but it can either be extruded (and subsequently bent and shaped) or injection molded, which wouldn't require bending afterwards. I'm not sure which type of Lexan Cascade uses, but depending on the additives, one processing procedure could be preferable over another. However, if I were to guess, based on shapes of the chin piece, with the lines and gaps, I'd guess it was injection molded so they wouldn't have to do much post-fabrication work on it (if someone knows better, please feel free to correct me)

When you go to Lacrosseunlimited.com and you customize a CPX Titanium you can choose a Lexan chin...

You can only get the Lexan chin with a CPX Ti, not a Chrome/black CPX

Oakley doesnt make lexan danglers for goalies.

Cascade also makes Lime Green Visors/Chins which you don't see much in the general public.

Why do they only make them for the Titanium face mask? Does the Titanium really have that big an effect that it can hold the chin piece together better? I just think that they could make more mony by offering it with just the chrome, because a lot of people just throw in the extra 10 anyway so, they might throw in another $10 to have a clear chin piece. Just my thoughts.
