Hey folks!
Now is the time for me to issue the challenge to all TLF readers to get out those sticks New Year's Day and play a game, scrimmage, wall ball, game of toss, anything. Show those 2007 revellers that laxers will give game anywhere, any time, even on New Years Day. You can play indoors, outdoors, or in-between doors if your covered porch is big enough and you don't mind broken windows. Hey, make a party out of it! (the lacrosse, not the window breaking!)
For those in the colder climates, meh, we played in the snow last year here in the Great White North and here's the pics to prove it:

So if you live in snow country, playing lacrosse outdoors on New Years Day will toughen you up. For those in the sunbelt, well... you'll just be smart!
So who's up for it? I throw down the gauntlet and challenge you to get out there and get going on January 1st 2007. Once you have completed said game/scrimmage/toss/wallball, take some pictures to prove it and post under this thread for all the world to see.

What a great post!
:bye: Howdy! from El Paso, Texas...
On New Year's Day, the weather could go either way. El Paso is in the center of the Chihuahua Desert, but the elevation is 3700 feet above sea level. It almost always snows here sometime in the first ten days of January, usually flurries, but we count it as snow.
We accept the challenge. It may only be a 3-on-3 game in a basement or yard, but what the hey, eh?
Great idea! :worship:
see ya on the first!

good call. and we're in snow country, more so cold Fairbanks AK,its like -30 or -40 around new years. but we all go home for christmas break so none of our team will be together. but when we get back from break, and its nice and cold ill do my best to get them out there, and we'll get a pic of the thermometer for ya.

Its probably going to just be like in the mid 30's-40's...maybe 50's here on new years day. (Like always)
But...I'll definitely do the first laxing of the new year for myself and get some photos.

That's a great idea...I'll try to match that, especially if the mercury in El Paso hits, like +73 or something...that would be very warm, maybe even a record high, we would expect something like 55 or so, but we'll see...any given day...
January 2, I expect a lot of cool pics on here...
I'm down to play Goody. Let me know when and I'll be there in shorts and a T-shirt.

Bump!
We have some confirmed souls for the 2nd Annual Laxer's Levee here in Oshawa, Ontario. A forecast of 7C (44F) and chance of misty rain. Should be a blast, though I think it woul dbe more fun in the snow.
So...who's playing New Years Day and remember, if you do, post some pictures!

we didnt play on new years, but we're all getting back to school this week. The temps have been swinging from -45 to about 10 so it could be anything this coming week along with the good bit of snow thats fallen in the past month. we'll do what we can to get some pics, as long as our camera batteries, and we dont freeze.
