I just went from monster mesh with 3 straight hockey laces to hard mesh with two V-shooters and 1 straight nylon. Its a big adjustment, but ya I was wondering if there was any real difference between nylon and hockey cause I'm thinkin about switching the nylon just so it looks better, and it seems like I get more whip with the nylon.

i think the nylon gives a more smoother and crisp release then hockeylaces.

alot of times when i dont have a nylon in i can feel the ball rolling off the plastic and its annoying so i just use a nylon and two straight hockey laces.

For my top shooter I cut open a hockey lace and run a nylon shooter through it.

All nylon shooters gives a very crisp, fast release but doesn't have as much hold or as smooth a release as hockey laces. Try using 1 nylon, 1 hockey, 1 nylon, 1 hockey going down your stick to get a good compromise between the two.
